“Good food, amazing view, shame about the beer”
Reviewed November 14, 2013 via mobile

Our satnav got us a bit lost but a friendly postman put us right. The views are stunning, who would have thought that there could be views like this so near to the M25.
The pub itself is staffed by friendly helpful people and the food was of the usual brunning and price high standard. But the beer...very poor choice, no IPAs at all, but the cider was good.

“A potential Oasis”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

Set back off the A40/M40/M25 this is a tranquil Oasis 10 minutes away from the main road tributaries to all points East and West.
Having been to Ickenham area a few times we had missed The Old Orchard.
It is in an amazing setting and on a good day offers a fantastic view and incredibly only 10 away minutes from the hustle and bustle of arterial roads.
The restaurant is quite open and seating comfortable and we were given a great seat by the window.
All started well but small lack of attention to detail started to raise some alarm bells.
We wanted a jug of iced water before deciding on what we wanted, which was either forgotten or sent to the bottom if the queue.
We has to remind the bar staff before it eventually arrived.
The Menu was diverse and we all ordered different Entrees and eagerly awaited our meals.
After a considerable wait, observing others who had came in after us getting their meals promptly we enquired as to the status of our order.
Apologies were made, although none of us was convinced by the reason, but when our meals arrived the Food was of a high quality.
It was a relaxed environment and we encountered no further problems.
We would definitely go again if it for the setting but, in fairness the food was good.
Service and attention to detail could have been better.

“Well worth a Visit”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

This Restaurant is worth the visit purely for the view alone. The food is of a very good standard and the staff are very pleasant. We turned up without booking on a Sunday about 12.30 and were able to get seated inside only because the weather was really nice so every table outside was taken. when we left people were queuing out the door so I strongly recommend you book in advance. My only criticism is that the knives are so blunt they couldn't cut through butter so if you are reading this Mr Owner get some new ones.

“Slow Roast Pork Shoulder”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

The best - of many - meals that I have enjoyed here was the Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder . The meat just fell to pieces, yet the crackling was so crisp.
We eat here often. The Beer is always excellent. The food is VERY well presented and tastes sooo good. The staff make this pubrestaurant such a great place to go. The view from the terrace goes on forever ..
