“What a wonderful weekend”

From the moment you open the door to Grey Heron lodge you know you've stumbled on a rare gem, this amazing lodge really will be the highlight of any stay. We stayed for a weekend in September and would not hesitate to return, the lodge is decorated with warmth and character and everything from the surprise afternoon tea to the endless search for 'Dundee' (you'll get what I mean) makes this place special. The large enclosed garden area is beautifully finished with everything you could wish for, and is just perfect for a lazy breakfast watching the water skiing or a glass of wine watching the bats come out for their twilight show, and if your lucky you might see a Lancaster (or two).

“Home from home”
Reviewed September 3, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Just spent 3 nights at Grey Heron. The lodge is clean, extremely cosy and very well equipped with everything you will need. The large enclosed garden overlooking the lake is beautiful and very well set up for eating outside or just relaxing on the loungers. Great views of the planes from RAF Coningsby. Even though we were only there for 3n, having the washing machine in the lodge was a real bonus. The welcome afternoon tea was a very nice touch on arrival. We booked at the last minute and Emma couldn't have been more helpful.

“Great lodge with a Fantastic View - a must visit (again)”
Reviewed August 24, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

An enjoyable stay for 7 nights, a great lodge with all that you could need and more. A brilliant garden that's enclosed allowing children and dogs to play safe with a fantastic view.

The surprise on arrival was just perfect after a lengthy drive. A place we shall be visiting again in the future.

“Perfect lodge, perfect holiday!”
Reviewed August 17, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Just returned from a fabulous week at Grey Heron Lodge. What can I say? The lodge was perfect in every way - from the totally unexpected surprise welcome gift to the view over the lake. Everything you could possibly want from a 'home from home' was provided. After we'd been out exploring for the day it was a pleasure to come 'home'. The little touches make all the difference to a holiday and Grey Heron Lodge exceeded all expectations. Every drawer or cupboard we opened gave us another smile - they've thought of everything, we even found spare reading glasses just in case you've forgotten to pack yours!!
An added bonus during our particular week's stay was the thrill of the last two surviving flying Lancaster Bombers putting on an exciting air display, it seemed, just for us!!
