“Fabulous food £6.95 for two dinner time courses.”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

You would have to look very hard in the area to get a better deal then this. Dinned several times and each time the food has been so tasty. The beef pies consist of lovely tender beef with a superb gravy. The home made curries taste of just that not processed. The pudding also home made lovely light sponge and a great custard. The pub is very cozy with plenty of onsite parking. Great little snug with open fire. Interesting RAF photos and history of the once occupied near by station.

“So full we had no room for a dessert”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

We had been visiting the Hull area and, not having a lot of spare time, arranged to meet my sister and her husband here as they live in Lincolnshire and this seemed a good "half way house" for both of us.
It was a find.
The welcome was warm and the helpings were so generous that none of us had any room left for desserts.
The only reason it's a "very good" rather than "excellent" is that the service was a bit slow.
We had a short walk around the picturesque village to assist our digestion after which we parted ways, our family members south in the direction of Wainfleet, ourselves onto the M180 for our journey back to Lancashire.
We'd certainly go back.

I stayed in the local B&B while competeing at the national hedglaying competition and had my evening meals here, the quality of the food was very high. the pub landlords and locals were very welcoming, i wish this was my local. if they still have any left have the Baileys lumpy bumpy pudding its the best.

“Home cooked favourites”
Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

This is a favourite local eatery for us. Extensive menu with many home cooked specials always available. Good prices for main course. Firm favourites are mixed grill (if you have a big appetite), steak pie (with proper shortcrust pastry - remember to ask for a jug of gravy), ham & eggs, gammon, fish & chips and several chicken dishes. There are also several veggie options. Several special deals each week.
