we went out with friends for Sunday dinner, what a huge disappointment it turned out to be. We waited carvery counter for nearly 6 minutes only to find that we had to wait for more items that weren't available yet, also the quality of the meat that we were served was so wafer thin it was a cheek the price we were charged considering the meat is the main part of a Sunday dinner. When taken back to our table our dinner was so Luke warm it was only suitable temperature for a child to eat and by the time we had eaten a few mouth fulls it was stone cold!! as the saying goes once bitten twice shy will never return again.

Despite the fact we only live across the bridge from Barton, we wanted somewhere to stay after a night out enjoying live music at The Ropery. We couldn't have picked a better place.

On our arrival, we were greeted by the very friendly landlady, Sarah, who showed us to our room. As others have said before me, the rooms are very spacious and clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The whole atmosphere of the pub is very friendly and all of the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. Although we didn't get chance to sample the evening meals, it looked very popular and the meals served looked very tasty.

The following morning, we enjoyed a Full English Breakfast, all cooked to order. It was absolutely delicious and everything on the plate was top quality.

For anything passing through Barton and in need of somewhere to stay, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The George Inn. The staff work very hard and cannot do enough for you. All in all, an excellent night was enjoyed by us both and we hope to visit there again in the future.

After booking a table for a family meal we ordered a second round of drinks and they came back and said they had no more Zinfadel rose wine? The lady owner came and took our meal order and my youngest granddaughter ordered the burger. When the main course come my granddaughter bit into the burger and there was Chilli's in it for a child! We informed them and they did not seem bothered!!! The rest of the meals where ok. SO BEWARE if you order a burger CHECK that there is no chilli in it ! There is no mention of it on the menu? When we paid the bill they even charged us for the Burger?

We stayed at this hotel which is located just over the Humber Bridge on the South side, as we were attending a wedding in Barton.
The room was large, well appointed and the staff especially the lady owner was very friendly and helpful
The breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order ( Excellent)

Room Tip: All Rooms are quiet and comfortable, the only negative is that you have to climb stairs as there is...

We spent three nights at this pub/hotel and cannot fault it for efficiency, friendliness and atmosphere. Our room was large, light, quiet and clean. The bed very comfortable. Clean towels every day. Huge freshly cooked breakfast available but also fresh fruit, yogurt, toast etc. The landlord and landlady are extremely helpful and friendly. The bar was busy each evening though not too noisy and although we didn't eat in the restaurant, the bar food looked good. There is some parking at the rear of the hotel and Barton itself is a delightful small town. All in all a very good experience.

Recently refurbished both in the bar and in the rooms. Some on site car parking which is covered by security cameras. The room we had was large and clean although hot in the july heatwave (a fan would have helped). Food in the bar was freshly cooked, reasonably priced and appeared home made. The bar had well kept real ales which we enjoyed. the staff were friendly and helpful. Barton itself is a pretty town although a bit dogeared in parts. well worth a stay & visit.
