Nice, pretty pub, big portions of food, food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful, but very overpriced. £10 for a glass of wine and £20 for bread and olives. This is not in London people. Don't think I will be back

Dearest Tracey C

We have over 30 wines by the glass, which was offered to you and the remainder of your party more than once. We are more than happy to serve a cheaper glass, all you had to do is ask. Prices start at half that amount. Bread and olives for 6 people was 3 whole home baked loaves of bread and 2 large bowls of olives. Much cheaper than 6 starters although maybe it would have been preferable for the rest of our regular clientele in the restaurant and the bar area if you had of had starters.
The volume level of 6 bickering hungry ladies creating a scene was not appreciated by anyone. Thanks to your late arrival of 25 minutes you managed to inconvenience the next 2 sittings by 30 - 40 minutes each, I understand that maybe London is a better place for manners such as yours. Us country folk pride ourselves on consideration for others, punctuality and volume are just basic courtesy's here. On another note for someone who reuses to drink a gin out of a normal glass but preferring a bowl the size of my children's goldfish tank London might be the right place. We do hope that the member of your party that was upset so much by the rest of you ladies, forcing her to storm out and leave, is now on speaking terms with you all again.
I wish you all the luck in finding a suitable alternative for your next chummy get together and a good helping of luck to those where you choose to spend it.

Kind Regards

The Whole Team at The Kings Arms

2nd season as a lunchtime venue with local shoot. We breakfast lunch and tea here and they really look after us. Fresh egg and bacon roll, good coffee. Back for great bread and soup and well cooked partridge - then a cup of tea and Rocky Road at tea time. Plenty of exercise in-between I hasten to add. Unpretentious, good food and friendly folk.

We have just returned from a weekend with friends at the King'sArms. We were so delighted with the whole experience. We will be back!
We slept very well, the rooms were spotlessly clean with good amenities and information about the facilities at the King's Arms.

We so enjoyed sitting by the roaring fire with our aperitifs.
The food, including the breakfasts, is exceptional. It was cooked to perfection by a chef who is clearly passionate about sourcing good quality, local ingredients and who knows his stuff. Beware large portions that are too good to turn down!

The staff were, without exception, unfailingly polite and helpful yet discreet.

We would not hesitate to recommend The King's Arms.

We called in today slightly late, and just wanted a beef sandwich. It was just perfect, sat in front of a roaring fire, with a delicious sandwich and excellent pint. Thank you very much.
Everyone always highly recommends The Kings Arms and so do I
You’ve got to try it if you haven’t already.
