Excellent says it all

Stayed here in June - the hosts were amazing - lovely people kind and helpful - made us really feel at home which is not always the case in BnB!

The rooms were very comfortable and the property is in an amazing setting with great views .

From our point of view this accommodation is highly recommended.

Good food and every convenience.

Room Tip: 3 rooms available - we chose ground floor - light - spacious and very well appointed - but two on fi...

As others have said it is hard to know where to start...this wonderful property is set within the most beautiful and idyllic countryside and offers anyone looking for a relaxing break everything they could possibly want.
Jayne & Chris have the most amazing home that is presented to its visitors immaculately, yet it doesn't feel clinical and offers all the homely extras. After several long hours on the road we arrived in the peaceful surroundings of the downs, a little early I called Jayne to see if we might book in. This was not a problem and within minutes she was greeting us in the garden with a fantastic "Wedge" of Victoria sponge and cup of coffee.
Other than the surroundings you will come to realise that nothing is too much trouble. Jayne did all she could to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. One of the first things she suggested we do was to take a stroll over the downs to see the “Pepper Pot” (a 14th century Oratory), this is a must and once you get on top of the downs you will see why! Apart from the view if you are a nature lover like myself you will find all sorts of wildlife. While on my trek I was lucky enough to see a young badger frolicking in the grass – one of those Kodak moments. Luckily I had my camera ready and got the snap….
We spent 3 nights staying at Hermitage Court every one of which I slept like a baby in their very comfortable bed. The room was equipped with all the modern items you’d expect but was furnished to complement the style of the cottage. The room also came with mini fridge stocked with milk and bottled water with an array of hot drink selections on top – this was all restocked daily which was another nice touch. Following a great night’s sleep breakfast was a treat in itself with the choice of fruit salad, cereal, toast or a traditional English breakfast all of which were equally as tasty and as good as you try to be it is hard to stay away from the later.
There is so much more I could say about this wonderful B&B but I would advise you to experience it for yourself and create your own memories. It is safe to say though that this was by far the best break I have had in a very long time and have returned to work fully rejuvenated. I will be booking another break at Hermitage Court Farm again very, very soon.

The location of this place has to be seen to believed - I have spent a lot of time on the IoW but discovering this area around Niton was quite incredible. The views are amazing - whether the weather is bleak or blazing!
The B&B itself is immaculately kept. The beds are very comfortable, and the peace and quiet is incredible. Home-made biscuits to go with the tea and coffee in the room were a highlight (I am still thinking about them) and the breakfast was absolutely amazing - huge amount of choice, beautifully cooked. Jayne has paid careful attention to the quality of the ingredients and it really shows.
Jayne and Chris themselves are welcoming and attentive, and we spent a fair amount of time putting the world to rights... I'll have to book another trip just so we can finish our conversation!

Room Tip: We were in suite downstairs (name escapes me) and you could hear people moving around upstairs when...

Well, where do I start. Like others before us we were wowed by such personal service from such a wonderful host.
We were greeted by Jayne who welcomed us and helped us in with our luggage. We were shown to our room to drop off our things and asked if we would like refreshments, we gladly accepted a cuppa but were pleasantly surprised by a large teapot of tea and two large slabs of light and fluffy victoria sponge cake which we took onto the patio to enjoy in the sun. The views are amazing and the peaceful surroundings an absolute treat!
After a lovely relaxing hour or so taking in the sun, we went back to our room to unpack. We stayed in "The St Catherine suite". A lovely room, pretty, clean, comfortable with everything you need and more. There were lots drinks on offer-various teas/coffee/hot chocolate and a Mini fridge with fresh milk and bottled water....oh and two lovely large fruit and nut cookies, again another little treat.
The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Other facilities included a large tv, hairdryer and clock radio with ipod dock.
As we were going out for dinner, we placed our order for breakfast the next morning. The menu was very extensive. A choice of fruit juices, Fresh fruit salad or various cereals, then in addition a wide choice of a full English breakfast or salmon and toast. Tea/Coffee, I'm sure there was probably more on offer I just can't remember. You couldn't possibly ask for more.
We mentioned that we were off to the IOW festival and discussed travel arrangements, Jayne suggested that we ask the taxi company she uses regularly for the school run and offered to speak to them on our behalf. When the driver arrived Jayne gave my husband a shout and it was all arranged there and then and much appreciated. Jayne asked what we wanted to do for breakfast the next day and we asked for a repeat of that mornings choice which was no problem.
After a relaxing afternoon nap, we popped out for dinner and were offered maps and advice which was gladly accepted.
Upon our return we had a shower in lovely large bathroom supplied with "large" white fluffy towels, shower creme/bath foam. handwash and hand/body lotion. All topped off by a sound nights sleep on the lush bed.
The next day we were off to the IOW festival so were looking forward to the breakfast, we weren't disappointed. The fruit was really fresh and there was lots of it, the cooked breakfast was evidently free range and most probably locally sourced(I didn't ask) but defiantly very tasty. Unfortunately I couldn't possibly finish it all. Again a large pot of tea was supplied.
When we arrived back late that night, the bed was made, the water and fresh cookies replenished and everything clean and fresh. Another wonderful nights sleep was had.
The next morning Jayne had remembered our breakfast choices which were repeated and were just as great!
Exactly what we needed to set us up for the day.
Do not hesitate in booking this wonderful B&B. I would recommend without reservation.
Thank you for a lovely break.

Room Tip: The very bestshort break, Wonderfully clean and light. Perfect facilities. Couldn't ask for more...

This excellent B&B is situated in a peaceful location with wonderful views. We stayed for three nights in May and were lucky enough to have amazing weather. On arrival on Friday afternoon, we were treated to tea and Jayne's amazing cake whilst sitting on the roof terrace enjoying the sunshine. What a way to relax! The accommodation is light, airy, comfortable and very clean with lots of little extras such as fresh milk in a mini fridge in the bedroom for making tea/coffee. Jayne and Chris are excellent, friendly hosts providing wonderful cooked breakfasts and knowledge about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on the island on future visits.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hermitage Court Farm is the Isle of Wight’s most secluded and tranquil Bed and Breakfast accommodation: the ideal place in which to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern living and relax for a while between the green of the downs and the blue of the sky, in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.Perched cosily under the tops of the National Trust’s St Catherine’s Down, and gazing down over the beautiful rural Isle of Wight countryside towards the waters of the Solent, the ten-acre Farm is hidden away, well off beaten tracks and more than a mile from the nearest main road, on the southern side of the Island. From here, and from the Downs at our doors, you can see everything ... yet hear nothing but the odd rabbit thumping across the lawn, a pigeon chortling, or the woodpeckers dining in the trees. Our peaceful surroundings, however, hide the opportunity for plenty of action. The Downs of the isle of Wight are full of history-from ancient burial mounds and a medieval lighthouse to one of Britain’s most amusing Victorian follies - and full of opportunities for leisurely exploration. A network of the Island’s well-known bridleways and footpaths crosses various parts of the property, and there is direct access to over a hundred miles of the finest and best-maintained footpaths, riding tracks and mountain-bike trails in Britain.A twenty-minute stroll across the Downs (or a very much shorter car trip) brings you to the nearby village of Niton, with its charming shops and friendly pubs, while a little further on you come to the famously picturesque village of Godshill with its much-photographed thatched roofs and celebrated cream teas. The Isle of Wight coastal towns of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor - famous as holiday venues from Victorian times -- with their glorious beaches and their cliff walks are just a short drive away. ... more   less
