“NATURE OBSERVATORIO - Just do it, it´s amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2011

Someone told us in advance, about this place. Only thing we knew it was a tree house.
The actual place is AWSOME! a beatifull house hanging 25mts above the ground without harming in the least the tree.
We spent a night here and was the highlight of our trip. In the middle of a primary forest, sourranded by nature sounds, is the most amazing experience we had in the caribbean side!!!
unforgettable...
Peter you´re a true genius! Thanks for all the kindness and an adventure we´ll never forget.

“ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPORTUNITY”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2011

Clearly one of the greatest experiences of my life and definitely a MUST if you are visiting Costa Rica. The jungle walk previous to the climbing is absolutely breathtaking, the climbing was incredibly fun, and once you reach to the top of the plataform you won't believe you eyes, your senses. You feel list a visitor in nomans land, which you are by the way; surroundead by animals of the height, who greet you with their sounds and respect. Absolutely a meditative experience that i would like to repeat. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

“Observatorio: Rainforest Canopy Research & Preservation Opportunity”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2011

Observatorio is an engineering marvel -- a "treehouse" suspended 25 meters up in the Costa Rican rainforest canopy. After a short hike (where you may see poison dart frogs and other unique species), you hoist yourself up to the platform where you can take in the incredible rainforest and sea views. Peter, the designer and builder, plans to turn Observatorio into a rainforest research and sustainable tourism tool, where biologists can study the canopy and tourists can contribute to the research and preservation of the surrounding rainforest. Amazing structure and preservation initiative -- contact Peter at - or -- for info and tours.

“Observatorio is Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2010

It begins with Peter Gacar and his wife Isabel's warmth and kindness, then a short 5 min ride, and then off on a wonderful and challenging 15-20 min walk through the Jungle. Peter working with the local Indian shows you plants and animals upclose as you venture forth. When you arrive to the tree, the view from the base is amazing as you realized what ingenuity and stamina it took to erect this masterpiece. After resting on the bench he has carved, and some water and fruit, Felix, with Peter prepare and instruct you on the rope climbing process. Then it begins. Slowly you ascend... it is tough. Once a few meter ups you start to sense a shift, while realizing climbing straight up ropes is a new challenge. The climb can take as long as you like, it is part of the magical transition. After a short while you arrive on the Observatorio. The view is stunning, the sounds are amazing, it is one of the most original experiences I have ever had. Saving the jungle one tree and hectacre at a time while building a beautiful platform or simple eco tours or more involved biodiversity and biocomplexity research studies are all possible here. A truely magical place.
