Arrived in Amatrice on a Monday, most places shut, feeling hungry, so came across this place. Initial impressions, clean and lots of tables taken. An unkempt person came over to take our order, and I know, the warning bells should have been listened to. No menu or price list, eventually agreed 7 euro for spaghetti amatriciana. An hour later it appeared. Meanwhile went to the toilets, filthy. Food was adequate, went to pay, scruffy guy appeared again, wanted 20 euro. How we asked, he added it up, oh, actually only 18 euro. No apology, and had gall to say, I am only trying to rob you of two euro. No bill, no receipt, in fact refused to give us a receipt. Anyone who knows Italy, then you will realise that this drops the customer well and truly in it, if stopped outside. So, beware, not worth the hassle over the bill, and being sent out without a receipt.
