Just spent a wonderful 4 days at Villa Violetta and could not have enjoyed it more. The views from the back patio are absolutely stunning and provide you with a perfect place for an evening meal or wine and snacks. The house is spotless and had plenty of space for the two of us. The bathroom is very modern and the upstairs bedroom and kitchen both had air conditioning which was wonderful as it was quite warm. There is a very modern supermarket, the Coop, which is well stocked with all types of Italian goodies and wine. We were there at least 3 times and loved it. There are also some very lovely restaurants in close proximity to the property. The best part is that the very charming owner, Violetta, is present right next door/upstairs in the event that you have questions or any problems arise. Violetta has been a tour guide in Florence for many years and now runs a tour business out of her home. There is very little about Florence and the area that Violetta does not know. She arranged a Chianti wine tasting tour and lunch with driver for us that was fabulous----a great way to spend a beautiful day in Tuscany. We also drove to Arezzo and some other hill towns in the area that were great. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Villa Violetta and look forward to a return in the next year or two. Highly recommended if you want a country place near Florence which is very accessible from here.
Fabulous views and rolling hills surround this lovely 13th century farmhouse which has been updated with all the amenities you could ever need. Upon arrival, drive thru the gates to beauty as far as the eye can see. Float away from all your worries while you sit and relax with a lovely bottle of Chianti! Enjoy the majestic views of Florence, sunny skies and cool breezes to the sounds of nature while the world melts away. This is how I feel ever time I visit. U never want to leave. Enjoy !!!
Picture idyllic Tuscan countryside, with remarkable views of Florence, surrounded by olive and fruit trees. Now add the exceptional hospitality of the hostess, Violetta Buti, and you're on your way to grasping the incredible experience that I enjoyed.
The house is absolutely spotless and features a wonderful kitchen with all the dishes and utensils you will ever need. Unlike so many European houses/hotels the bathroom is a very generous size as is the bedroom.
The setting is the real highlight - I enjoyed breakfast in the garden every morning while admiring a view of the cathedral in the distance. Aside from the chirping of birds, there isn't a sound to disturb the tranquillity.
The owner, Violetta, speaks impeccable English. She has what seemed to be an encyclopaedic knowledge of Florence and Tuscany and was happy to provide suggestions of what to do and see as well as where the best restaurants and shopping are.
I certainly hope to return and can highly recommend!
A very comfortable rural house surrounded by olive groves with a stunning view of Florence in the distance. There are many places for pleasant walks as well as opportunities for trekking. Violetta, the owner , is very knowledgeable of the area as well as of the city of Florence. There are some very good restaurants nearby.
I would recommend this place:
-Beautiful view on the Tuscan hills, as well as on the city of Florence.
-A host that is very friendly and helpful: with a profound knowledge of the history of the country, as well with a lifelong experience as a guide and travel agent, so she can inform you about places to go, cultural events, hiking possibilities etc.
-The house breathes a real rural atmosphere with nice and tastefully furnished rooms and a huge garden with terraces, olives, roses and vegetables and herbs.
A great place to be after a city visit; it is because of a lot of space around you, a real relaxation!
-It takes some time to go 'downs the hills' to the city, so a car is recommended.
This location is amazing, close to Florence, surrounded by olive yards, exceptional view to the city and the Appennin mountains. Violetta (the owner of the house) is very helpful in finding the right sightseeing tour in Florence. We really enjoyed staying in her house and we'll visit again.
