I stayed here with a friend in March of 2012 and it was beyond expectations. The views from the deck and dock are incredible. Erica and Jose are both professional and personable. They were accommodating to dietary wants and I felt they went out of their way to make you feel at home. At night the dock is a great place to check out because of the stars which abound and the bioluminescence of the water...crazy! and if you want to stay on the porch you will be very happy with the fireflies. The tours are beyond reasonable in cost and even if you are not a water person I highly recommend the snorkeling tour. You will be amazed. Not only with the fish but the beauty and the last stop in truly magical.

We stayed in five different places whilst island hopping in Bocas and Dolphin Bay Hideaway was definately one of our favorites. It is a beautiful location, rooms are high quality, clean and well maintained. We stayed in the bay view room which is very large, bright and has it;s own private balcony overlooking the gardens and bay. The food was very good and such good value as it is included in the room rate along with wine and beer (the wine is a good standard too).

The other point that really sets this place at the top of the list is the owners, Erika and Jose. They really go out of their way to make your holiday memorable. They are a lovely friendly couple who are very easy to get on with. Jose does private trips if you want them and Erika is happy to take you to town with her when she goes shopping (other places will charge you for this). We saw the Dolphins several times during our stay whilst out in the boat and Erika always took the time to circle the boat to play with them. They like to swim at the bow of the boat ...amazing experience.

We had bad weather whilst we were here, but still enjoyed our stay just chilling out reading on the veranda, watching the humming birds that visit the feeders. There is also Mickey the parrot who roams around the veranda (doesn't like having his photo taken), two friendly dogs and chickens

Room Tip: The Bay view room is the best as it is quiet, bright, very large, four poster bed (although all the...

we stayed in Dolphine Bay only 1 night. the hosts erika and jose are very friendly and helpful in all matters. amazing is the night. there are sooo many stars in the sky - you can not imagine. the rooms are big and beautiful. there is no air-con or fan. therefore it's not possible to have a nap during the day. it's was extremely hot. the nights are colder and sleeping is not a problem.
we can highly recommend this place.

We recently visited the hideaway with our two kids ages 15 and 12. The place is secluded and only accessible by boat. Erika and Jose, the hosts are very knowledgeable and helpful to plan any daily activity. The staff prepared excellent meals.

It definitely is a place to get away from it all. The main deck overlooks the bay and is visited by a resident parrot "Mickey" as well as a number of hummingbirds. We stayed there three nights and went snorkeling one day and horseback riding the next. There no beach, however one can swim in the bay.

I stayed there last month with a friend. We were a little nervous that it would feel like a couple retreat but instead found a fun welcoming home with travelers from literally around the globe. The environment was laid back and just what we hoped for. I would encourage travelers to take advatage of the excursions. They are well worth it and reasonable. The property is in a Mangrove. forest. There is no beach but the dock provides easy access to the water and the swimming is very refreshing. The upstairs deck has many hammocks for reading, bird watching, drinks, etc. We had a blast playing cards and dominos after dinner. The bugs were not an issue. My only complaint is that silly bird stole my pineapple! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Room Tip: I think the lower garden level provides better privacy and probably less noise.

My boyfriend and I stayed here last month and loved our stay. The snorkelling trip was amazing, Jose is a fantastic guide! We also visited the chocolate farm which was interesting.

We stayed in the Garden View room which we both found very comfortable. The bed was great (and Im very fussy when it comes to beds) and the shower was sensational.

Upstairs offers a great place to lay in a hammock and relax. So does the jetty. There are very nice sun beds available and the water was lovely. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no beach here (another good reason to take the snorkelling trip! The places visited are amazing!).

It is a family run affair and Erica & Jose are very, very good hosts. Their 2 children are very cute and well behaved and whilst we were there, we did not hear any crying. The family actually sleeps in the room down on the jetty so if the kids wake up at night, and cry, you cannot hear anything.

We will definitely be recommending this place to fellow travellers, we really did enjoy our stay.

Room Tip: All are nice (I had a peep) but the Garden room (the cheapest) was perfect for us.

Erika and Jose are lovely hosts, and I enjoyed spending time with both of them. They were friendly, helpful, and interesting. The property was beautifully maintained. My only complaint was the small room I stayed in the last 2 nights was a little stuffy, it was the smallest (and cheapest) and it did not have a cross breeze, but they provide fans over the bed so it was fine to sleep. Not a lot of room to hang out, but there was a porch, so it worked. Plus the upstairs porch is very nice to hang out in, with hammocks and lots of hummingbirds. They also gave us a complimentary upgrade when we arrived, which was a very nice bonus. I liked the fact that beer was provided on the excursions and/or included with dinner (3 per day). Jose was great with the excursions. Cocktails were nice too, but extra, which was fine. Breakfast and dinners were fresh and tasty (included in the room rate). The excursions were reasonably priced, and in line with other providers (cheaper, in fact). I saw another reviewer complain about no AC/TV/internet (in fact, there is wireless internet). If that's what you are looking for on a vacation, then yes, you should probably stay in town. The more remote islands are not for you. If you are looking for nightlife and a party scene, this is not the place for you. But if you want to escape being plugged in, this is a great place to do it. Thank you Erika and Jose for your lovely hospitality.

Room Tip: It depends on what you want--the rooms downstairs are cheaper and more private, but small, stuffier...
