We booked a 2 and 1 bed lodge to accomodate an extended family trip to celebrate a 60th birthday. When we initially arrived we had been located on the first floor of the old house which wasnt ideal with 2 small children and a disabled elderly relative, luckily the staff we very helpful and moved us. The 2 bed was lovely, all on one floor with easy access huge rooms (in fact we nearly moved in too) however the 1 bed was tiny we struggled to fit a cot in it but no real room in lounge either due to settee bed, but we couldnt really complain as this wasnt our intial allocated room.
Lovely restaurant on site, leisure facilities werent working pool too cold to allow people in but this didnt put us off and im sure we will revisit we will just try to get one o the better apartments next time
Had an issue with drains and were concerned that we were going to be flooded with other peoples waste but it was fixed eventually.

Good location for Lancaster and Blackpool. Spacious apartment, comfy bed. Didn't like the black mould in shower room, didn't like the fact that one side of double bed didn't have a bedside table, no tv in bedroom but good sized tv in living room. However the drawer in bedroom containing haridryer was off runners and seemed soon to break! Also and this is obviously personal, but I like curtains in the bedroom not vertical blinds as these allow too much light through and the draught through open window caused blinds to rattle all night!
The apartment was very clean and well equipped, micro, dishwasher, full size oven and gas hob etc in kitchen, sofa bed downstairs plus downstairs bathroom with bath. Lots of space in all the rooms.

Thurnham Hall definitely exceeded my expectations! We stayed here for one night in apartment 50 .. this was situated on the ground floor of the Woodlands View apartment block. I didn't know whether they would put us in the main building or a modern apartment but once we checked in, they couldn't have put us anywhere better. We could park vertually right outside our door, which made it easy for carrying our bags, and we had an unobstructed view of the beautiful land surrounding Thurnham Hall. Although we couldn't check in until 4pm, they allowed us to make full use of leisure facilities from when we arrived at 1pm, and provided us with free towels. The pool, hot tub and sauna were lovely!! When we got in to our apartment, it was very spacious and absolutely spotless! There was a large bathroom with a large corner bath and powerful shower! The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need! There was a large flat screen television and the bed gave me, quite possibly, the best nights sleep Ive ever had! We went for a midnight walk around the grounds, so the torch that they provide came in very handy! I rang for a late check-out the following day, and they allowed us until 11am. TIP 1: request an early check-in when you book as the woman said they will try and make sure your apartment is cleaned first! TIP 2: Dont feed the ducks too much, unless you want them knocking at your door for more late at night ha! As you can probably tell, I really enjoyed my stay here and I'm already planning my return visit!!

Came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and didn't really know what to expect having booked through bookings.com. The apartment was spotless, if anonymously decorated, and set in attractive woodland where ducks, squirrels and birds gambolled together!
We ate in Talbot's restaurant on-site and were very impressed by the quality of the food - and the price for a very good meal. (£30 a head including wine). The staff were charming, friendly and helpful and the breakfast the next morning was just as good as the evening meal. We'll be back again, and we might even take the kids with us next time

We arrived at 2 pm and were given a nice studio apartment, which unfortunately was right next door to some scaffolding on the wall, which we do not find accepable for a quiet vacation having the builders working. So back to the reception and they gave us another studio in the Hall itself which was very nice. It had a decent sized bed, a smallish kitchen, but with dishwasher and a ridiculously small, wobbly table. Reception is under the stairs, very small. There seems to be a lack of help from any of the staff working there. On arrival I was carrying supplies up the stairs, met a member of staff coming down, and there was no asking if he could help me which would have been appreciated! The restaurant has good food, mostly locally sourced. The rib eye tasted good, but was a little on the thin side. My venison was very good with a chocolate sauce, and my lemon syllabub was also very tasty. Cheese and biscuits were fine, but the meal had no real wow factor. The restaurant is divided into two sides which was rather strange, but again it is space at a premium. The bed was one of the hardest I have ever had the misfortune to sleep on. The leisure centre was quite good. The first time we went there was a member of staff who was extremely helpful and was cleaning the floor and the changing rooms, but the second time, the girl did no cleaning whatsoever and the floors in the changing rooms were quite dirty. They have a very strange spa which turns itself on automatically and when it turns itself off you are supposed to get out while it filters itself. In reality no one does and sits there for five minutes or so waiting until it starts again. The sauna was very good, but no steam room although there is plenty of room for one. There was also a gym which was well used by guests. A good stay though.

We only stayed one night, but so so so wish we could've stayed another. If we're ever back in this part of the world, we will be here, feeding the ducks, eating the yummy yummy food, playing in the playground, enjoying the lovely surroundings, retiring to our fabulous apartment, and all for an absolute bargain price!! The staff were all great, too. Love it!
