It's a beautiful setting but the accomodation is tired, our apartment was really smelly and the sofa bed too. The shower didn't work properly, the apartment needs refurbishment urgently. The exterior is a mess
We were disappointed with the swimming, we even paid extra for passes and couldn't get to use them, we couldn't get anywhere near it was that full. It's more a splash pool, not a swimming pool and the children's area was a mess.
Its not the star it says and I wouldn't go back

We found this location when searching online for places to stay near Lytham St Annes. This hotel came up which looked amazing and the price was excellent so we quickly booked it. The mileage must have been worked out as the crow flies, as it was much further than 18 miles, but when we arrived, none of that mattered.
Thurnham Hall is fantastic and we highly recommend it.The apartment we booked was really lovely, clean and HUGE. It's just a shame we arrived in the evening and left the next morning, we'd loved to have stayed longer.
The reception staff were very helpful and gave us print outs of the history of the place. It is one of the best hotels that we've stayed in the UK and we'll definitely return.

Had a 1 hour full body massage this afternoon and what can I say it was absolutely amazing. I left the venue feeling very relaxed and ready to start my holiday. Tracy who did the massage was fantastic, friendly and professional. Amazing value for the service and the grounds and hotel are also amazing as I have them previously used the spa and stayed overnight. Best to book in advance as it's always fully booked Totally recommend it. Thank again Tracy

my family and I had a restful weekend in Thurnham Hall. There were 4 of us in the group so we stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment (#26) which was quite nice. The apartment itself located outside the hall (cottage style), it was very spacious, clean and bright. The ensuite bedroom have a walk-in shower which was one of our requirements because safer for my mom to use (she’s elderly). Both bedrooms and bathrooms are also spacious.
The kitchen is well equipped, all the items we needed were there (fridge/freezer, washing machine, dish washer, microwave, oven, stove, toaster, drip coffee machine, kettle, iron, etc). Thurnham hall itself is beautiful, we like the lounge area with it’s large fireplace and comfy sofas and seats. The ground surrounding the hall is also beautiful.
We love the friendly ducks around the pond area, in the morning they would follow us walking from the apartment to the main hall.
Thurnham hall area is very quiet, and there are not much to see. However when we went for a walk to see the Catholic Church near the hall we can see a narrow boat passing on the canal near there.

We had dinner in the restaurant inside the chapel, the menu is simple (one page menu) but it was ok. Btw, it’s the same menu for the two nights that we stayed.
Would we stay there again? Yes definitely, but next time we would like to try staying in one of the apartment inside the hall itself.

One thing to note is the check in time was quite late at 4pm and check out time is early at 10am. As we are late risers, we requested a late check out at 12noon and that was accommodated but at an additional cost of £20 (£10 per hour).

This is what happened as follows
We arrived Monday evening checked in after 7 pm
The receptionist booked us in to 33 when we drove around to 33 we seen it had no washing machine as I had requested one when i rang up to book
I phoned reception and the lady I spoke to said sorry about that come back around and I put you in a Different room
So we drove around to reception so I was given room no 6 which I was told had a washing machine in it arrived still no washing machine in there
Me and my wife and my 2 boys aged 10 and 6 carryed up our cases and bags up to room no 6
When going in to bedroom to close the curtains we noticed that the curtains were not fixed properly to the curtain pole so I phoned 0 on the phone in the room and told the receptionest about curtain and she said she would send up the maintenance man Steve
which he came about 5 mins later
On arrival he came in fixed curtain
and then started to talk about ghosts
And how the room no 6 is haunted that the kitchen door going into living room slams shut
And a ghost Dark shadow walks through room
I said stop this story telling my boys are frightened and the 6 Yr old was shaking and crying clinging on to my wife and me I said stop this silly talk
He then said he stayed in this room with his family
And his son heard door slam and shadow walking through room he got sick
My 6 Yr old son has ADHD he was uncontrollable petrafied
He then went onto talking about the kitchen and the door going into back room were there's a Den he carryed on talking saying preists were put on hole in wall a dungeon and killed there
I said stop this can you see my boys are frightened so much my 6 yrs old was shaking and uncontrollable he would not leave our side and he's got ADHD we only just about got him to sleep in his own bed now this has ruined everything he followed us around the whole holiday and wouldn't be left in a room on his own my wife had to sit with him while he showered and constantly reassure him there no such things as ghosts he is now in our bed and this has really set him back we came on holiday to relax the whole break away was ruined
What type of man is he to go telling people and most importantly children things
Like this I am very up set and not inpressed with this way of Behaviour
