“Great Cottage in Great Location: Great Eccleston!”
Reviewed August 3, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Vine Cottage is in a great location for exploring Lancashire and beyond. The quiet location offers a peaceful retreat regardless of the type of day that you've had. With easy access to the neighbouring villages and the motorway network, it is easy to explore from here. The cottage is cosy and our party of 4 adults found the accommodation comfortable enough. The kitchen was well equipped with a lovely touch of some complimentary essentials such as milk, tea and coffee on arrival. The locals from the village are very friendly which made our stay a home from home.

“Lovely welcoming cottage”

Our stay at Vine Cottage was very comfortable. Everything you could need is available and the cottage is very well decorated. There were extra little touches such as a Christmas tree, and fresh eggs and milk in the fridge when we arrived. Picking up keys was very easy and the owners were very quick at answering questions. As we were quite busy during the day, my only regret is that we weren't able to spend more time at the cottage. I would recommend this to others.

Lovely cottage, which had everything important that you needed. We had a few complimentary items, which was a nice touch. The cottage is nicely decorated and very warm. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us(2 adults and 2 children). The children enjoyed the cottage too although they would have preferred to have more out door space to play in. The court yard is for small dining only, which wasn't a problem for us. The village again is charming with friendly people. Blackpool is only 15 mins away, so bigger shops are accessible.

Stayed in this lovely cottage for a few nights in September and it was great. The owners have done a very good job in bringing the cottage up to date while keeping the charm of a period property. Open fires in both the living and dining rooms are a nice feature and would be fantastic in the winter months.

Located within a quaint village with a few nice pubs. Would definately stay here again when we are in the area

“Fantastic cottage and a great location!”
Reviewed August 24, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We booked the cottage for a few days in early August 2015 - two adults, one child and one dog! The cottage looked amazing - both inside and out, and it felt like a real home from home. The owner had left tea, coffee, milk and eggs for us, along with a large basket of freshly laundered towels. We cannot fault the cottage in any way! The beds were comfy, the bathroom was spacious, clean and cheery, and the kitchen came fully equipped with everything you might possibly need!

The decor of the cottage was very tasteful, and the cottage itself is situated in a very picturesque little village called Great Eccleston. There are lots of nice pubs and restaurants if you wish to eat out - our favourite was the Farmers Arms, which was very good value for money. The two main village pubs didn't do hot food every day though, which was a shame, as it meant we had to go elsewhere.

The area is very handy for Blackpool, Fleetwood, St Annes and Lytham etc, and is a great base, if you want all the excitement of the seaside, but don't want to actually stay in amongst all the hustle and bustle all the time.

The village itself is surrounded with mile after mile of stunning countryside, and this was perfect for walking our greyhound.

We would totally recommend this fab little cottage to anyone visiting the area, as it has everything you might need - peace and quiet, or a packed seaside adventure!

Two children aged 2 and 4, and two adults had a fantastic stay, we were visiting an elderly relative in blackpool and found the drive took us no more than 15 minutes into blackpool. The zoo was a highlight for the children, but being able to come back and relax in a home away from home feeling made the trip so much more enjoyable than staying in a hotel. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, and very sweet, the surrounding area is pretty with places to eat, so we took advantage and had a very nice fish and chips take away one evening. Thank you for the lovely jam! We hope to stay again.
