Description: The Stuffed Olive is a bright and casual Mediterranean brasserie on the Sidcup High Street that is fun for all the family. With its tiled floors, warm citrus colour scheme and wooden furniture, the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and is a perfect place for parties and group get-togethers. The menu at The Stuffed Olive includes dishes from Cyprus, Greece and Italy and even has a few English dishes thrown in for good measure. The wine list is superb we love the Prosecco and the smiley staff are fantastic even when the restaurant is full. Signature dishes include the grilled sardines with a lemon and mint salsa and the kleftico slow-roasted lamb served with Greek salad and rice.

“Excellent service”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

Myself and 9 work colleagues visited the Stuffed Olive for our Xmas lunch, the food is fantastic and plenty to choose from, they are very accomodating in every way, the staff and Paul the owner are very polite and welcoming, I also had my wedding reception meal here, and everybody commented on how nice the food was. We will be visiting again very soon.

“Great Food, Friendly Atmosphere”
Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

Each time I have visited the food is delicious. The Greek dishes are very tasty and the meat falls off the bone! Really nice atmosphere, always full when have been. Recommend.

“Food good, waitress good, waiter glum!”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

We ate here last Saturday. Food was mostly good. Steak was great. To start I had scallops wrapped in bacon which were tasteless and wrapped in a great big thick bit of bacon that was fatty and also lacked flavour. Don't get me wrong the food on the whole for all our party was good but the chips seemed frozen and that always says to me that the restaurant doesn't care that much. The decor is a bit like a canteen and our male waiter had all the personality of a traffic warden. The young waitress smiled and was pleasant and could teach old misery guts a thing or two about customer service. I had booked through the Tastecard website and nowhere did it say that you couldn't use it on a Saturday, but even though we explained this, Prince Charming just refused it without any real apology. A drink on the house would have gone some way to smooth over this problem but that didn't happen. With a wealth of restaurants pulling out all the stops to create a great eating experience, these little hight street eateries need to work hard to impress. It's a shame because as much as the Stuffed Olive was ok, it's not somewhere we'd rush back to.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear that you were not happy with the service on Saturday evening. Firstly can I say that when you go on to the tastecard website it clearly states that we do not accept it on a Friday and Saturday evening. It also states that on the days that we do accept it (mon-thu) you need to call and mention that you will be using it. Not only did you present your tastecard without prior notification after asking for your bill, but you also claimed that we accept it on a Saturday night. Secondly our scallops are pan fried, wrapped in streaky bacon and served with a cauliflower purée with a drizzling of garlic butter sauce, which we received many compliments for on the night so it baffles me how you found them tasteless. I fear your misunderstanding of the tastecard website conditions made you feel that our waiter was not giving you a satisfactory service. Furthermore our restaurant has been described by many of our customers as modern and stylish far from the canteen description you have given it. We work very
hard to bring quality food and service which is great value for money so that people can come and enjoy an evening out at a local restaurant. We are disappointed that over tastecard misunderstanding you felt necessary to give a poor review.

“Better if I stayed home...”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

Visited for 1st time on a midweek evening and left very disappointed with the quality of food. Thought this was an authentic Greek restaurant with authentic dishes but I was wrong. Found the menu confusing with a mix of Greek & Italian dishes with nothing really appetising and all overpriced...gave up and had a mixed kebab with salad and chips for £15(!) and left half of the meat due to the poor freshness and quality. Starters were acceptable but were served luke warm. Only plus note was the friendly service but food & value was a complete let down.

“Pleasant find in Sidcup”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

With a new Taste card to try out I looked for a local restaurant that would accept it - and happily stumbled on The Stuffed Olive. Upon arrival the restaurant is fresh and modern, decorated in warm reds and orange as befits its Mediterranean cuisine. We had the choice of the main menu, a fixed price menu and the days specials. We mixed and matched from all three.
Starters included tiger prawns, pork meatballs and a selection of dips and pitta bread - all 3 very well presented, plentiful and tasty. My haddock with seasonal vegetables was cooked with a white wine sauce which complimented rather than overpowered the fish. I'm ashamed to say we were so busy chatting and enjoying ourselves I didn't pay attention to the other plates - except that all 3 of us declared it was a very enjoyable meal and we would return when we had more time to dine. The waiter was all he should be, pleasant, prompt, attentive but not obtrusive. We will definitely treat ourselves to sample the rest of the menu and wine list on another occasion soon.
