Most of the reputed and well-known resorts in Coorg are located minimum 10-12 Kms away from the Madikeri city. There is no way you can find this resort after late evening although there is a signboard on the highway which one can't afford to miss or else you'll drive straight to the Kushalnagar town, down the valley. Another suggestion is to keep the vehicle parked in the resort rather than opting for only drop by a cab. Good part of this resort is that all bookings are done with meals included and the food served is very delicious. There are only two good things about the resort and its price, one is food and second is nature. Restaurant staff is very good and courteous, always smiling and ready to serve you.

I stayed for three nights in this resort and checked in at about 4 pm in the afternoon. I was told that access card will be given to me after some time. Inspite of reminding many times, I was not given the card and every time, I had to rely on housekeeping folks and reception to open the room. When I asked the reception to put me to the General Manager, I was told that he had left for the day. After raising my voice, they gave me the master card. Neither the GM nor anybody from management apologised for this unless I gave my feedback during checking out. Any guest would appreciate immediate resolution or atleast management intervention rather than getting apologies on these reviews.

Resort lacks maintenance and proper pest treatment. I found lizard, tadpoles in my room which was located on first floor.

Room Tip: Keep the balcony doors closed to keep insects away from the room.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree with you that immediate resolution of a problem is much more important than an apology posted later. We have advised the resort to ensure that such a situation does not arise again. We are sincerely sorry that you had to be put to such inconvenience.

A well maintained resort with all modern facilities for our pleasant stay. The rooms are well maintained. The bathrooms are very spacious. Very clean surroundings. The spa and gym are very good. The food served are very delicious and there are more variety of food.
There is lack of maintenance of doors of the bathrooms and the plumbing .
Overall, this is an ideal place for you to spend your weekend forgetting all your worries and problems.

We stayed at the Windflower for 5 nights.

Pros:
1. Excellent property
2. Excellent food. Huge variety of buffet items. Also a live counter at every meal. At the heart of this resort is the restaurant where Mr Nandakumar and his team work their magic. He personally asked us whether there was anything we liked to eat !!! The cuisine has won a place in my heart. Keep up the good work, Mr. Nandakumar.
3. Buggy available for transfer to/from the rooms
4. Spacious and well maintained rooms and well ventilated bathrooms.
5. Good decor throughout the hotel
6. Efficient and friendly staff
7. Ducks on the artificial lake bring some liveliness to the property

Cons:
1. They do not make transport arrangements to other Windflower properties or the airport. Sightseeing arrangements, however, are possible
2. 100% advance payment. This is not in line with market practice
3. Evening entertainment is limited to the singer/guitarist on some nights. It can be a bit boring.
4. Quite expensive: INR 10,000+ per night for Studio

We recently did a company offsite at Windflower Coorg.

Key Highlights

1. Located at the entry of Coorg - so its just a 2 hr drive from Mysore. Comes immediately after Kushalnagar. ( The other Resorts like Club Mahindra are an additional 90 min drive away)

2. Location - its close and sights like Kushalnagar Monastery and Abbey falls are near but the Cauvery is a good 30 km away. While reaching the resort you dont drive thru jungles and dont get to see the cloudy misty verdant green hillside of Coorg that comes after Madikeri.

3. Lovely rooms - around 40 of them , very large property. Rooms are very spacious - the bathroom is the size of a normal 5 star room.

4. We had a suite ( room 43) - hall , bedroom , balcony , large bath , outdoor shower with open terrace

5. Food is very good - bot S Indian & N India

6. Large Meeting room which can seat 50 - 60 people

7. The Resort has its own lake , lovely pool , and its own plantation walk.

8. Not much of activity for kids - great for a weekend relax trip

Another visit to the Windflower properties. This time it was Coorg. This resort is amazing & the location & the architecture are inviting. The resort on the whole is great, with good facilities & beautiful pool, decent food etc. But the rooms need little bit of remake, due to the dampness in the wall & the ceilings. We stayed in 3 Suites & it was huge with all comforts. It was raining most of the time, but the umbrellas were not present in the rooms. The staff were very friendly, particularly the restaurant staff were great. The stand in Chef Yuvraj was always there to help & also to know if we need any thing in addition. The F&B manager Madhu was also very helpful with smiling face. The restaurant staff Ms Baby was very dedicated & helpful.

The buggies were always available to ferry us from the room & the restaurants even in the late night. The food was good like any other windflower property. Kids will love this place.

Me and my wife decided to get away on the dussehra weekend and zeroed in on this place as we did not want to drive for too long.We wanted to unwind badly as we both had hectic schedules over the past 3 weeks. We were not dissapointed and came back fully rejuvenated and charged.

Property-An excellent property located a couple of kms off the main road. The rooms are very good and spread across a wide area. The reception area is spacious and very welcoming. The lazy ones might find a few of the rooms a bit far from the restaurant. For us it was a refreshing 5 mts walk :)

The suite-The suite in which we stayed was very good. The living room was good and the bedroom very spacious. The natural lighting in the bedroom was good. The showers both indoor and outdoor were good,The only disappointing this was the front portion of the bathtub which was not properly fitted and was hanging.Probably it needs a changing.

Facilities-For those who want to spend time in the resort,The resort has a good swimming pool,a few board games,a TT board, pool table and an average outdoor badminton court. The SPA and the gym is also very good. There is also a decent bar where you can settle down watching television.

Food-The spread was good and fresh.Loved the Kerala paratha, methi paneer, mix veg jaipuri, the roast egg,the chicken soups(sweet corn and the hot and sour) and the pastries.

Service-There is no room service in the resort and rightly so as some of the rooms are slightly away and the food can get cold by the time they serve. They should however consider serving morning coffee/tea.The hospitality was very good throughout our stay.Special mention of Madhu,Swamy, mani and chef nandakumar has to be made because everytime we walked into the bar or the restaurant we were made comfortable and every requirement was taken care of.
