I travelled to Coorg with my mother and grandmother in October this year and let me say that staying at Sithara was the best decision ever! Pattu uncle and Sundari aunty's home is right in the middle of their coffee plantation in the heart of Coorg, surrounded by picturesque hills on either side. It was like living inside a rainforest. The entire property has been done up with a lot of attention to even the smallest of details. Uncle is a terrific and engaging host and extremely helpful. He also procured for us the kachampuli, coffee and banana jam that we had requested for. Aunty's cooking is to die for and we gorged ourselves silly on her amazing Coorgi food...especially the Pandi curry! This place can easily put a five-star to shame. There is absolutely nothing that one can complain about. Highly recommended for everyone who wants to visit Coorg - you will not regret it at all.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms on the second floor - they have a better view from the porch area.

Hello Everybody,
This is Shashi Kiran and Shwetha Ramu, we are keen travelers and golfers.
We travel to Virajpete in Coorg quite often to participate in the golf tournaments there. We as usual stay at Sithara.

Sithara is just a HOME AWAY FROM HOME for us, that is the kind of comfort it offers and more so the love and affection Pattu and Sundari provide to us.

The rooms are very spacious and luxurious, with all the amenities and a lovely sit out and the balcony. One very important aspect of sithara is the cleanliness. The rooms are very very clean. The terrace is the best part, with stars above and a perfect place to Enjoy Sundari's pandi curry (Coorg style). Just the perfect place to just sit up relax and enjoy your drink with the company of Pattu and Sundari. We have been to Sithara from the time it started around 3 or 4 years back and it is the same even today.

Now coming to food, I have never in my entire life had such delicious and tasty food each and every time we go there. Sundari is just a lovely cook and anybody who has food there would agree on this. Its all these things put together that makes Sithara a wonderful place to visit and keep on visiting. Many of our friends (Vegetarians) who have been to Sithara with us tell us that the vegetarian food they have had there is one of the best they have had.

The hosts Pattu and Sundari are the best people we have come across and we have more or less become a family. The warmth and treatment and the bonding which we share is hard to put in words.

This is just not a place which is run for the sake of a home stay, it surely does RE-DEFINE what a homestay is and how it should be run. I have traveled quite a bit around the world but never have come across such good homestay. Its the combination of everything, the place, the food and the hosts.

I am very sure that people who visit sithara once would go back again !!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS TRULY A HOME AWAY FROM HOME !!!!!!!!!!

Cheers to Pattu and Sundari.
Mali Shashi Kiran and Shwetha Ramu

I and my wife stayed in Sitara homestay for 3 nights and the experience was awesome. Pattu uncle and Sundari aunty took very good care of us. Uncle has been to many countries n shared his experiences also we had a good time discussing movies. Aunty is a great cook and we enjoyed "kadambuttu" a lot. My wife also took note of the recipe. We certainly recommend this place to all the people visiting Coorg.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

Sithara Homestay, together with KS and Aunty (Mrs. Uthaiah) is hands down the best property I have stayed in.
Every little thing is so well taken thought of.
We reached the place at 5:30 in the morning and we were warmly greeted by Mr. Uthaiah. The rooms were impeccably clean and well maintained and we found fresh fragrant flower snippets at the dressing table. The towels were soft and fluffy, the bed was flawlessly made and there wasn't a single thing one would feel the need to complain about. Sithara sets a high standard not only for homestays but it can give star properties a run for their money.

Coming to the food, Aunty (Sundari Uthaiah) makes the most delicious food I've ever had. The breakfast was so healthy and sumptuous and the dinner was to die for. That was the best Pandhi (Coorgi pork) curry I've ever had.

Mr. and Mrs. Uthaiah are an amazing couple and it's their eye for perfection which makes Sithara a place you would want to comeback to again and again.

You will fall in love with Sithara Homestay and the most adorable Uthaiah couple.
We came back yesterday and we miss Sithara and Uncle and Aunty already...

In a word, PERFECT!

A lovely location with two lovely people (Mrs and Mr Uthaiah) and you get Kumbera house. Worth an experience and a treat to stay at Sithara. Surrounded by the nature's serenity and melodious cackle of birds... a true panorama of life at its best!!

Room Tip: its a must do to stay at this place .... full marks to that!
