“Fantastic experience!”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Like so many things in Panama, you have to drive through hell to get to it, but wow it's worth it when you get there. It's a little piece of heaven. Just be careful, know the way, where the construction points are, get an SUV, make sure you have gas and water, and put your "Panamanian Driver" on. And find peace in knowing that Panamanians may be crazy rude drivers, but they're not generally violent. ;)

“Zip line adventure”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

Took the zip line adventure. Total time of zip line is about 45 mins. Cost seemed a bit over priced for what you got. Was charged $45 .

Facility is about 1 hr 45 mins from Panama City

Pros: They had a number of zip lines to zip across and the views were beautiful.

The guys who gear you up and take you along on the zip lines did not speak any english. So when they were trying to explain to group what to do and how to navigate on the zip line they did it in spanish. Fortunately we had someone in our group who spoke spanish that translated but with that person we would not have understood them. Although the guides seemed nice enough they were very rushed and rushed you along the tour. Seemed like a production line, get you on and over so they can get next group. No time to sit back and enjoy.

Equipment was rather worn. The gloves I was given to wear (and are used as your braking system, you press glove against zip line to slow down) had so many holes in them I could see my fingers through them. There was no sanitizing of equipment between people, gloves, helmets were full of sweat and stuff and handed to next person to use.

Although they do have bathroom facilities they were totally disgusting (backed up with feces & urine, giant cockroaches climbing in an on toliet, no toliet paper) you would be better off going in the forest.

Also what is not mentioned anywhere is that you have to take a narrow, very bumpy full of large pot holes dirt road for quite a while to get to their facility. Something to be aware of if you are taking a taxi or have a rental car.

Also at end of zip line adventure they end you at a bottom of steep hill that you are expected to climb back out to get to your car that is at top of hill. Wouldn't suggest it for those who are not in shape.

Hello Buffy, it's unfortunate that you feel like you did not receive the full value for the cost of the experience.

Upon looking into your comments, I discovered that you actually tried to use a bathroom at the entrance that was out of commission at the time. We do have other bathroom facilities down in the reception area that are always functional and maintained. Unfortunately it looks like the bathroom you went in to was not secured enough to keep you out of it so I'm sorry that you encountered the mess inside. At this time, those bathrooms have been repaired and are back in service and clean again!

The road is certainly littered with potholes and occasionally has other debris covering it, it's an unpaved jungle road which, aside from a few small farms in the area, we are the only users of. So to be quite frank, we are lucky to even have a road out there that at most times even compact cars can work their way through. We are currently working on a solution which will include a cool safari-style shuttle service that will take people back and forth between our site and a few other attractions in the area.

Thanks for coming and thank you for the feedback!

“A wow experience!”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

Our friend, Mary Roush, helped us plan our recent visit to Panama and it included the Zip line with Panama Outdoor Adventures. It was a blast and I was very impressed with how safety conscious the guides were. There were 8 of us doing the zip line and it occasionally got a bit crowded on the platforms, but we were always tethered and felt safe.
It was one of the best adventures on our trip. I would recommend it.

“simply a must "to do" in Panama”
Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

Been two times, first with my kids from 12-14 and then visitors from Iceland. Everyone simply loves this and it is such a great fun. The safety is high priority and the guys who work there enjoy there job. as said, this is a must to do if you are visiting Panama. they have 3 trips a day, 9, 11 and 1 pm. I reccomend to take the earliy ones and then drive to Portobello to see the old fortress and the church of black christ (and a whole different culture from the City of Panama). we love the Caribbean side of Panama, if you have enough time. Drive further to Isla Grande. You can stop on the way at the resturant Don Kiote and have a great Pizza middle of nowhere. 5 stars for Panama outdoor adventure Zip line tour :)

“Don't Let Your Fear of Heights Deter you From an Awesome Time”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

What an amazing adventure this was. Accommodating, easy to work with and personable is the best way to describe Josh and his crew at Outdoor Panama Adventures. Our plans constantly changed as we continued to confirm different tours during our visit to Panama. Even with our constant day and time changes Josh was able to accommodate a time and date for us as well as schedule us a pickup and drop-off in Panama City.

The location is tropically situated in the jungle with a large covered area for you to wait, with working restrooms. Josh (the owner) is personable and welcoming as he greets and talks with everyone as they arrive. The staff is knowledgeable and extremely helpful when it comes to photos and videos. They make you feel very comfortable being so high off the ground. If you’re afraid of heights like I am, don’t allow this fear ruin an amazing time. The wait time in the suspended canopy’s (what was probably 20 to 30 meters felt like 200) can be nerve wracking but the experience of flying through the jungle is so unique the anguish of waiting your turn to zip line can’t compare. For two people who love to try new things this was a perfect experience for my girlfriend and me.

Just so you know: from Panama City it’s an all day event. The drive to and from Panama City is about 1.5 to 2.0 hours depending on time and traffic. Our drive Angel brought us to a restaurant that had incredible views, good food and amazing hot sauce that we ended up buying and bringing back to NYC.
