Visited The Crown Inn on the Jubilee weekend and stayed for 4 days. Do you know when you have enjoyed something so much the time flies by so quickly that you feel that you have only been there a very short time? Well it felt like that.
Clive the owner was sociable, funny and remembered everything that you said to him, he had a genuine interest in what you had done and where you had been.
Didnt see much of Penny she was kept quite busy but she seems to be a really nice person.
The food was excellent, we ate there every nite and he keeps a nice tasty drop of Spitfire.
The room was large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Stay here again?............You bet we will !!!!
If you are visiting the area dont miss The Crown Inn

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Crown with such welcoming and friendly hosts. We were late arriving due to the M25 being closed but Clive said he would provide dinner whenever we could get there! Have recommended The Crown to my friends and would love to return with my family as children are so welcomed and there is a great bar in the pub.

Room Tip: The Bridal suite was lovely!

A truly wonderful discovery. Came with group of French friends looking for traditional country pub with rooms and we all had a great time. From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome by Clive whose dry sense of humour and attention to detail - Lionel's souvenir marmite springs to mind - set the tone for the weekend. Beautifully refurbished, spotless rooms, an excellent evening meal and hearty breakfast made us all keen to go back.

Have stayed at The Crown often over the last year and have to say Clive and Penny are fantastic. The rooms are always clean and the food is great value and Clive has a good selection of beers on tap. If you are away on business and after a nice bed and meal for the night as well as a good banter then The Crown is the place to stay. Also good value for money.

Clive and Penelope could not have done a better job! Arriving late after lunch finished we enquired for somewhere to eat but even though the kitchen had closed the lovely lady of the house rustled up a delicious salad and ham, egg and chips for us! Words could not describe how grateful and pleasantly surprised we felt. That we washed down with a cold beer and a white wine which was so good that we had a couple more.....

This was not the end of it, throughout our one day / night stay they were offering help and advice, even a lift should our taxi not turn up to take us up the road. We were so touched!

We stayed there before about 3 years ago when we broke up a journey to the Channel Tunnel and met an acquaintance in the restaurant for a fantastic meal. Back then again both Clive and Penelope had done more than could ever be expected even offering a late breakfast and it has stayed in our memory ever since!

The rooms are spacious and quiet. Despite the fact that all rooms had been fully booked we heard nothing – something that can’t be said for most of the high star rated hotels we have stayed in.

Our bathroom was spacious also and bathroom amenities were provided and anything we may had forgotten to bring could be asked for downstairs.

So this second visit won’t be our last, I thoroughly recommend this very warm place. It is exactly what they advertise; a homely family feel Inn with home cooked food and good selection of wine, spirits and beer but with the added extra mile or 5 that they will happily go for their guests.

Thank you so much for looking after us!!!
