Myself and my partner visited on a wet rainy day for something new to do.
we arrives and was instantly got in the mood for an aery, spooky visit by a very bold ticket seller.
we got our tickets and in a group were lead into the caves - before you know it you're in complete darkness with more than a few surprises.
very interesting in places and excellent value for a rainy day activity..
i wont tell you what happens in the caves, but in a grown woman who is scared of the dark, so may not be suitable for little ones!

This is the ultimate in family visits. There is something for everyone, the entrance has exhibits, a shop and integral cafe. The tours on the hour and half hour when busy are fun and informative, some of the flooring underground was a bit bumpy but manageable, the tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous. A fun visit for a fiver,
discounts for children and seniors, ant the prices in the cafe very reasonable. Ample free parking on site.

Well being in a big group of girls I should have known we'd be picked on.

The guide was amazing very informative, a bit mental but clearly loved his job. He had a brilliant manner and stage presence to tell the many meny stories this cave holds.

You walk around in these caves so please wear proper foot wear. Some of the girls learnt this the hard way.
There was a section when the guide split the group lead some of of to an old druid sacrifice stage and took all the lights away and left us there whole he took the others away. He wanted to show us what true darkness was like.

I would love to tell you what happened next but SPOILERS!!!

So ill let you find out for yourselves.
Really good fun very enjoyable and educational. Who would have known a few very famouse rockstars have played in these caves to mini crowds!!

I've been here twice, and both times had a good time. The cave tour was very fascinating and really gave you a good insight to peoples lives spent in the caves. It's very spooky and very cold down there!

We have been here twice now and both tours have been different. Both times have been during the warm weather but we made sure to wrap up warm as its cold underground! A number in the party when we went were just in shorts and t shirts and you could see the smirks when we arrived in jackets etc! 10 minutes into our journey the smirks turned into looks of envy behind chattering teeth. As there were a number of children the guide adapted the tour to keep them entertained and he managed this well. It is well worth the hour or so spent here.
