“Warm and wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

After experiencing our first winter in the UK, we needed a bit of spoiling, no snow, just rain! Bob and Nicola are fantastic hosts and made our 6 night "retreat" a pleasure. Beautiful, spacious, comfy, smart and welcoming double room with fantastic Doona, a luxury ensuite, fresh towels, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits, umbrella, they have thought of everything.

Breakfast is enough of a feast to keep you going until late afternoon, or an early dinner and is served in a very well presented dining room in the main house.

Coming just after Christmas, the house was charmingly decorated And had such a welcoming atmosphere. Both Nicola and Bob work hard at this and should be very proud of their B&B in their delightful property.

Highly recommended.

Spotless rooms, well furnished and warm. Peaceful, pretty location. Ideally situated for Tenterden, a lovely town, with plenty of interesting shops and restaurants. The pretty town of Rye with its cobbled streets is only a few miles away. We particularly enjoyed Appledore, with its village guide, which was obtained in the church. The owner Bob is very friendly and helpful and cooks a lovely breakfast on his AGA!

Wonderful location near Tenterden. Stayed two nights in order to explore the area a bit. The tenant rooms are located in a seperate building from the main house. It was renovated beautifully with spacious rooms. The full English breakfast was terrific and plentiful. Although I did not have time for it, there is a heated pool; the grandchildren would have loved it. I would definitely recommend Brook Farm.

The accomodation was really well presented and comfortable. Breakfast was great - good quality, local produce for the full english breakfast and some nice touches like fresh fruit to go with yoghurt or cereal. We stayed for one night but would have liked to have stayed longer.

The location is also good, very close to Tenterden (we had a delicious meal at the Turkish restaurant) and an easy drive to Rye.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The hospitality was exemplary, and the room and surroundings were superb. This is high quality accommodation where no expense has been spared, resulting in this being one of the best stays we have ever had.
The breakfast was in keeping with the rest of the experience - a leisurely affair which set us up for the day feeling relaxed rather than rushed.
We are looking forward to returning.

We stayed at Brook Farm for two nights along with another couple. Right from the moment you drive down to the house you feel at home. Bob made us feel very welcome as he showed us around the rooms. The rooms are in a converted stables which has been meticulously done to make your stay very comfortable. Being detached from the main house meant that you felt like you were free to come and go as you pleased.

Bob helped us by booking taxis and even a table at the local pub (6 Bells worth a trip to).

The breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

Definitely worth staying at if you are in the area.

Myself and my boyfriend have never stayed in a B&B before- we normally go for what we assume will be a 'safe bet' and pick a hotel instead. This was our first time staying in a B&B and if we are to stay in one again they will have a hard time competing!

Brook farm is easy to find if you have a trustworthy satnav- even ours didn't let us down and we often think it's playing cruel games with us. We drove down the drive and by the time we had climbed out of the car in front of the barn, Bob one of the owners was already walking towards us to let us in. He showed us to our lovely room and then left us to it. The Barn has 3 rooms and is completely separate from the main house. We were in the room in the middle. Lovely spacious room- with a really comfy best and the nicest duvet I have ever experienced. You will not be chilly at night!

The place is absolutely spotless...peaceful and private everything you could want for a night away. My main concern which normally results in me not choosing B&Bs is the idea of being a guest in someone else's house, you do not feel this way at Brook Farm- yes, you are showed to your room by the owner, but given a set of keys, told when breakfast is in the morning and left to it!

We saw that other guests had been to the six bells pub in Woodchurch for dinner so we did the same. It was good pub grub- not amazing, but definitely did the job! We sat in the bar area of the pub afterwards for an hour or so enjoying the open fire- it was a nice way to end a day of wondering around Rye and Battle before we arrived to Brook Farm (both are within 20 minutes drive away and well worth a visit- Rye Especially!)

Breakfast the next day was served in the breakfast room in the main house and it was faultless. Make sure you are hungry! There are fresh juices, lovely tea or coffee... You will be offered a croissant and toast before being presented with a perfectly proportioned fry up. I needed a lay down afterwards before we drove home...

If like us you are normally reluctant to book a B&B- please take the plunge and book a night or 2 at Brook farm - you will not regret it. We'd love to return in the Summer (if it ever arrives) and make use of the swimming pool!
