“great day out”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

This is a great place for all the family, lovely walks, views and facilities. Plenty to do for children of all ages - mountain bike riding is popular here. There is also a large car park and many activities taking place all through the year. Well worth a visit for a fun familyday out.

“Great place”
Reviewed March 6, 2014 via mobile

I visited today with my young daughter, and so glad we did.
I chose to take us on the longer "red foot" route, which is about 5 miles. The initial climb from the car park is not a true reflection of the rest of the walk! Once you've got your breath back, you can take a steady stroll along the clearly marked paths through the wonderful countryside.
The notice board states this walk should take 2.5 hours, but it took us 2 at a steady pace.
There are plenty of marked cycle and horse trails too, and picnic areas to visit during the summer months.
With the only cost being £3 all day parking, we'll definitely be visiting again.

“Beautiful country park set on the South Downs”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

What an amazing place, I first went here as a 12 year old and still love it as a 31/2 year old! Plenty of amazing views, hidden roman ruins, pic-nic/bbq areas, amazing cafe/gift shop and wildlife. It's a must for couples, dog owners, photographers, ramblers and families. I don't know how you could fail to like the QECP, make sure to go on a nice day. I've been on the frosts of December the 1st and the heat of August 1st - it's beautiful all year round.

Things to note:
Be prepared for all eventualities in terms of weather, take a rain coat even if it is sunny when you set off, the weather can change very quickly at QECP, the park is vast and it might be some time before you are back to the safety of your car/the cafe, the same can be said for toliet requirements too. There are some steep inclines, depending on the route that you decide to take so check your footing and wear a good set of waterproof hiking boots with ankle supports, trainers are not ideal in some parts of the park. If you have day glow arm bands or a brightly coloured hats/clothing for your childern to wear, do this as it is easy for them to get lost whilst exploring, some parts in the centr and eastern outskirts of the forest are vast, thick and dark. Take a back pack with plenty of water, food and first aid supplies, such as scissors, bandages, ibuprofen, aspirin, matches/lighter etc. you never know, also take a fully charged mobile phone. Please keep dogs under control, I have seen them running off, chasing a deer or rabbit some distance from their owners in the past and others who have lost their dogs completely. There isn't a parks authority to pick up dog mess, please do not leave mess in plastic bags around the park, it's best to kick it in the brush and off the trails to break down naturally. Lastly, have fun!

“Wide open spaces for fun...”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

we came here on the off chance one Sunday and were very pleasantly surprised. it was a lovely calm place to visit, not too much commercialization and lots of space to run and play. For the adults there was a food market in one part, which was interesting but defintly not the best bit. High up in the trees they have bike tracks to follow and adventure trails to discover - lots of places if you wanted to bring your own barbecue. If you are coming for a big event with friend and family it is probably worth booking your space.

“Queen Elizabeth Country Park”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

We took the dogs here on Saturday whilst staying in the local area. Nice walks although some tracks are challenging, ideal open spaces for kids. Picnic and bar-b-q area and a well stocked shop and little café selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and ice-cream. A good place to visit if your into cycling, horse riding or just enjoy getting out in the fresh air. A fun place for the kids!
