Stayed two nights last week and can recommend Ascott Hotel for location ,convenience and comfort.Staff very friendly and helpful.
Great value for money for twin room especially as we got an upgrade to two seperate rooms.
Huge breakfast and gallons of great tea. What more could you ask for?

We stayed in the Ascott for two nights and found it very clean, very comfortable and very friendly, lovely breakfasts and a free upgrade - what more could you want? Given the chance we'd certainly choose to stay there again -- well worth * * * * .

Thank you soooo much to David, Peter and Anne for providing our family of 5 with a truly welcoming and delightful place to stay for the best part of a month when we were flooded out of house recently. We live nearby and chose the Ascott for its great local reputation and central location so our lives could carry on as close to normal as possible. Rooms spotless, great comfy beds, fab breakfasts cooked to order. Our eldest 2 are college students so could get into Manchester easily as the tram/bus service is really handy. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance or a couple of minutes drive - believe me, we tried them all with nearly a month of having to eat out every night! Can highly recommend Cafe Rouge at the Lowry/new BBC Media City about 5 minutes away and Blacksticks which is a couple of hundred yards away. Highly recommended, thank you for caring for us so well and keeping us all sane in our hour of need, Caroline, David and the children XxXxX

I had the pleasure of visiting Manchester, to take my wife to a show there, I am certainly glad that I chose the Ascott Hotel, this is truly a place where service is second to none, nothing was too difficult for the staff, from the moment my wife and I arrived. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with all of the facilities one would expect but at a price far less than one would expect for such. Access was very good to, just a few mins from the motorway just as the staff had advised over the telephone. Breakfast was really good, I love to eat a hearty breakfast and we received exactly that. Well done to all at the hotel, and a note to the management, well done on having such great staff, thank you, we will definately stay there next time we are up in Manchester.

reviews are all good ..beautiful lounge fantastic breakfast I even got a voucher for
a free
glass of wine at the local restaurant because I booked direct ,the best offers are
when you book direct .I travel a lot and will defiantly stay there again

This hotel was clean and the staff very friendly, but overall I found it disappointing after the reviews I had read. The decor was tired, the room small and very hot (and if you opened a window there was a lot of traffic noise), and the louver blind on the window did not keep out the street lights. There was no drinking water in the room, and the free wifi did not reach the top floor. I'm afraid I wouldn't stay here again...

I think it is interesting to note that this guest booked a standard single room the cheapest
option possible, by nature of being single they are smaller or of course they would be double
rooms. I am afraid i cannot agree the decor is tired, this room was redecorated 6 months ago
also all the previous reveiws atest to the high standard througout the building.

The free wifi does work if a problem was encounterd with it why not ask there is a telephone
by each bed ,as to the room being too hot why not turn the radiators off they have a valve ,
perhaps this guest should have booked single occupacy of a double room its only £4.99 more expensive and includes breakfast. All our rooms are redecorated on a 12/18 month basis.

Another highly enjoyable stay in this delightful and individual hotel. We were given a free upgrade to a lovely big room, with a very comfortable bed, and wine vouchers for Smith's Restaurant ( would also recommend highly.) This was our third stay and we fully intend to book again when we are in the Manchester area. Love the decor and great breakfast too!
