5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2009

I've stayed here since starting work here in Manchester back in September! Paul (the owner) and his family have made me feel very welcome with helpful advice, good conversation as well as a great cooked breakfast and evening soup! The rooms are always clean and tidy and even the bed is comfortable. A truly lovely place to stay and great value for money.

Spent one night here at the weekend- room was extremely stylish ,roomy ,very clean and well equipped. Its set back from a fairly quiet road & was peaceful .Owner was friendly , down to earth and helpful. The only slight snag was the double bed being two twins pushed together - I didnt know this when I booked as the other double room I requested wasnt available . Would definitley go again but have a room with a double bed . Overall would recommend this hotel to anyone, great location, a taxi into Manchester is about £8-10- enjoyable stay and nice detail in the rooms . ☺

Stayed at Ivy Mount for one night while visiting my daughter who is studying at Salford Uni. Paul could not have been more helpful and so friendly giving us info on the best way to reach Old Trafford for the Stadium Tour. Plenty of leaflets etc., available and Paul's local knowledge was very helpful. Breakfast was brilliant, orange juice, cereal, full english breakfast, toast jam marmalade, tea and coffee what more could you ask for.
Why stay at a large chain hotel when you can have a more personal service from Paul at the Ivy Mount. Will definately be staying again when we feel the need to visit daughter.
Thanks Paul!!!

Had to be near Salford Royal (Hope) Hospital as my Mum was having an operation. My friend and I stayed at the Ivy Mount for three nights and found the house and bedroom spotlessly clean and comfortable. It is within walking distance of the hospital or there is a bus stop just outside the house were a number 68 will take you to the main entrance of the hospital. Paul and his family were extremely welcoming and he even offered to drive us to the hospital one night.

The breakfasts were excellent and freshly cooked to order. Paul also offers, free of charge, bowls of piping hot soup and bread each night and you can also help yourself to tea or coffee, nice touch and much appreciated.

I would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for clean, comfortable accommodation especially if you need to be near the hospital.

This B&B is situated on a quiet road in Eccles, about 10 minutes walk away from the railway station and tram stops. There is enough room to park 3 or 4 cars on the front driveway and plenty of on road parking. The owner is a great bloke and I enjoyed my brief conversations with him. I had a comfortable night's stay. I was quite amused that one of the TV channels was the CCTV camera pictures of the front of the hotel. Only disappointment was the small portion sizes of the breakfast, including about 2 tablespoons of baked beans, and approx. 2 mushrooms cut into thin slices. Also, the breakfast room is very small. However, these are minor issues and you will struggle to find a better B&B in Greater Manchester.

A really good touch is that between 5pm and 7pm, free soup is included in the price.

Also, the owner starts breakfast really early (from memory, 6am), which is ideal for business travellers and early risers. No other B&B owner I know does this.

I stayed at the Ivy Mount Guest house while my partner was a patient at the nearby Bupa Hospital. Bupa had recommended other hotels but after reading the reviews for them I chose this B&B. I am glad I chose such a nice place. The room I booked was a double with Ensuite which was great value for money. The bed was comfortable, fresh towels were provided , the room was clean & tidy and was equipped with a television and freeview box. I had a great nights sleep it was so quiet. In the morning I was treated to a full english breakfast which the owner prepared to my taste. Great little place which helped me relax after a long day at the hospital. 15 minute walk from the hospital but worth ideal for exploring manchester as well
