“We Can't Get Enough!”
Reviewed July 21, 2011

This was our 6th stay at the Rancho! From the first stay back in March of 2010 we knew
this gem of a small hotel would become a place we would return to often in order rejuvenate, unwind, and have fun. The grounds are stunningly landscaped with many varieties of palms, bougainvilleas, and cacti. The ocean is wide, pristine and ideal for long leisurely
morning walks, afternoon sunbathing and wave watching, and evening star gazing. The rooms are all so perfectly decorated with ample inside and outside spaces.to take in all
the beauty of the surrounding area. We love the rooftop terrace suites and the last two
stays have really enjoyed the Milagro Suite #22 in the newer opened Hacienda which
has stunning and expansive views of the beach and ocean. We so enjoy there are no
phones, clocks and flatscreen tvs. We much prefer the sound of the waves and roosters!
There now are 2 beautiful pools to enjoy. The main pool is more happening with the bar and music and the pool by the Hacienda is quiet and peaceful. With 2 pool areas and
the beach the hotel never feels crowded. We would move from beach to pool to other
pool as our moods changed.

The help at the Rancho is so much part of our experience. Everyone goes out of their
way to make you feel special and extremely taken care of. We must say we deeply miss
Christine and Josh as they left in March but the overall feel of the Rancho remains
the same.

This last trip the owner's husband George, originally from Hawaii, came back from a successful fishing trip and made us a huge portion of awesome tuna poke as we mentioned how we love it. Ishmael brought us some snapper which he caught the night before and then made us some of the best fish tacos ever! Danny the bartender whipped us up some special watermelon cocktails that we requested. A dinner table
was beautiful set up on the beach for us and friends for a 4th of July evening

This trip we went up to La Paz and took a boat tour of Espiritu Santo and Ballandro Bay.
This was an incredible experience as the waters are warm and Caribbean Blue and the
sand very white. We saw dolphins,, whales, and sea lions. The Rancho can arrange
for a tour. We highly recommend this tour if you can tear yourself away from the hotel.

If you are in the mood for Italian food you are in luck. The Santa Fe Restaurant in Todos Santos is just a 15 minute drive. We used to drive up from Cabo to eat here. Having
such an amazing restaurant so close to the Rancho is a big plus for our stays here.

In closing must also mention how the cost of staying here is so refreshing! It is wonderful that the rates remain so reasonable! The cost certainly has helped in making this last stay our 6th and certainly not our last! Can't wait to return!.

We stayed at Rancho Pescadero for our "second honeymoon" (our 20th anniversary). It was a spectacular week!

In general: When we chose RP we were looking for relaxing, quiet, and beautiful. RP has it all in spades. We loved everything about the hotel from it's quiet beach and welcoming staff, to the beautiful pools, aesthetics of the whole place, and the food. Sitting out by the pools or walking on the beach, napping in the beach beds, or adventuring out beyond the front gates to Todos Santos or another beach, we were happy!

Our room: Our room (#2) was amazingly beautiful with a 180+ degree view of the beach, the surf, the mountains beyond. Every detail in the room was lovely from the materials, the colors, to the fabrics and textures. We had a palapa covered terrace and a roof top deck each outfitted with lounge chairs, table/chairs for dining, and a bed for really kicking back. We spent as many hours lounging in the privacy of our room as we did by the pools just because we could.

The staff: The people who take care of you at RP are all about service. They were warm, genuine and happy to assist whether that meant mixing you a gorgeous frou frou coconut drink of some variety or setting up a fire for you on the beach at sunset, or recommending a local chiropractor and setting up an appointment (we hope you don't need it, but DH had wrenched his back the week before we got there and was in some serious pain for the whole trip...Carla made the call...Dr. Mark helped!). We felt like family but royal family! We were treated with the utmost care. Thanks to everyone at RP, including Karla and Carla, Yan, Simone, Danny, Roderigo, Julio, Sergio...everyone! Too many to name!

The food: Our meals (dinner and lunch) were terrific. The fish is so fresh and everything was tasty and healthy. (Many, many wheat free options, which we loved, btw.) Our favorites were the fresh fish and the pork chop with guava sauce. Yummmmmm. And the flan!! We got a bit bored with the menu after several days (perhaps a couple different rotating menus would help out guests who stay longer than 4 days) so just started asking for what we wanted, off menu, in other words. "Your wish is our command..." was basically the response. Fantastic! The fruit in the mornings was a disappointment, not very sweet, not very exciting for us coming from CA. But we survived!

yoga: DW does some yoga back home and found the yoga classes to be HARD. Had the intention of yoga-ing every day...gave that up. The classes don't seem to be geared to the guests as much as the locals who come too. This was a bit of a disappointment, but not earthshaking.

The worst part about RP is having to leave. We were so relaxed and happy there, getting back to civilization was no fun!

Thanks Rancho Pescadero! We can't wait to come back!

My wife and spent our 20th anniversary at Rancho Pescadero. We have spent a lot of time in Baja Norte and Central America in the past. Baja Sur (outside the tourist crush of Cabo) is a wonderful place filled with cool people, hidden beaches, nice hotels and good food. Rancho exceeded our expectations. We felt like part of the family and they helped us set up a really cool surprise dinner on the beach with the most amazing couple playing guitar and singing. The sunsets, the surfing, the tequila, the light, the stargazing on our rooftop deck, the art, the little backroads...just right. We'll be back.

Room Tip: we loved #3 with the rooftop deck. #22 also came highly recommended.

This spot is amazing. Perfectly appointed rooms, we slept some nights on our roof deck bed where you can see every star in the sky. Service was amazing - they literally treat you like family. The pool plays great music and you feel like you are worlds away. The beachside chairs are perfect to enjoy the day's sunsets. The restaurant is very good as well, delicious food. Nice and quite place with a positive, relaxed vibe. We love it here - we can't wait to return.

I looked for over 6 months all over the world for a place to spend my 40th birthday with my closest friends. I stumbled upon this little gem in a magazine & found it had everything I was looking for. RP is a private intimate hotel in a part of Mexico that is still relatively undiscovered (major plus!). At Rancho Pescadero you can still experience old school Mexico ..... stellar service, phenomenal food, cultural town & cheap prices!!! The Rancho Posse made our vacation the trip of a lifetime for each & every one of our 23 guests. I HIGHLY recommend anybody looking for a group venue to book here!!! You will not be disappointed.....they will make sure of it!

Room Tip: just tell them what is important to you!

We were in Milagro Suite #22, which from the outside appeared to have the best view. We had wide, panoramic views of the ocean from a huge, shaded balcony. We spent a lot of time on the balcony doing nothing, and it was great. We were there for three days.

Service is first class, and many of the staff greeted us by name when they saw us. That was pretty amazing to us. You don’t have to sign for your expenses at the bar and restaurant, and I liked that. When you finish your meal (which was always amazing), and you want to take your wine over by the fire, you don’t have to wait for a check. But inspect your statement at checkout. There was an honest mistake on our statement that they immediately corrected when I pointed it out.

The hallways are noisy, and this is my only real complaint. The doors slam loudly and echo through the whole building. This is a big problem early in the morning and late at night. Also, the hotel staff places coffee and fruit outside the door every morning, which is great except that it’s noisy and woke us up.

The couples massage was disappointing. The massage itself was great, but it’s not an actual couples massage. It was two massages in two different rooms scheduled at the same time. They don’t have space to be able to provide a true couples massage.

You can’t swim in the ocean here. The surf is too rough. It was too cold to swim anyway. The weather here is not like the weather in Cabo. We took t-shirts and shorts. We needed pants and fleeces in the mornings and evenings. It was very nice.

We ventured out on bikes one afternoon and had a great time with that.

Todos Santos is a nice town and definitely worth an evening visit for pictures and dinner.

we'd read what a romantic resort Rancho Pescadero is so we expected that to some extent, but truly to me it just might have been the "most romantic" resort my wife and I have ever experienced...we loved it and everything Rancho Pescadero offers is terrific. What a great location; the charm of the location, overall resort design, the rooms , the staff and management, the food, nearby surfing, fishing off the resort beach, other resort amenities and Todos Santos amenities 5 miles away...it all blends together to be an "outrageous oceanfront oasis".
