I stayed at this hotel on a business trip to london and I thought it was just perfect. Really close to the tube station but not directly in the centre of london so you can escape from the chaos. The staff were very friendly and professional and made me feel welcome. The quality of the breakfast and the cleanliness of the rooms made me feel that it was money well spent.
During my stay there was a wedding party and it seemed like everyone had fun at the party so it seems they can cater for business and pleasure.
I would definately go back, it's a great location as well as great service.

A group of us stayed for one night and we all really enjoyed our stay. Very clean, very comfortable and a beautiful garden. We stayed in a top floor room and it was very well appointed and spacious.

Room on the top floor (#9), however, for "top" a better description would be loft, very few places where I could stand up properly, I wish I'd taken my hard hat I hit my head so many times. If you are 5ft tall or have a permanent stoop I guess it wouldn't be a problem though!

Plus points are the location, which is close to the tube and shops, breakfast was excellent and the place is spotless. I found the staff I met friendly enough although I only actually saw two of them.

I would stay again if in the area, but certainly not in the loft conversion for 95.00 pounds a night.

I have stayed at Packfords a couple of times but would not do so again for several reasons:
The price for what you get is outrageous.
For seven pounds more you can stay at real 4 star hotel a mile or 2 away.
I found many of the staff to be unfriendly, distant, and seemed not to care if you were there or not. It was unlike any other bed and breakfast that I have visited in the UK, all of whom welcome vistitors, especially those from overseas. I found this very surprising having my own business, customer service and satisfaction is of utmost importance in this economy.
The rooms were cramped dated and very noisy, (you could hear everything going on in adjoining rooms).
There were some pluses:
the breakfast was fabulous and the rooms were spotless.
On the whole, though I felt my stay was a waste of time and money, I would definitely not recommend this 'hotel' to anyone.

I booked this hotel because it was close to friends that I wanted to visit in London. It was just a lovely stay. I booked by e-mail, and because they don't have a secure website, didn't make a deposit until just before my stay. They were very professional and friendly, and the room was lovely. A room on the second floor with a view of the street and trees, what more could you ask? It had a beautiful ensuite bathroom with claw foot tub, very nice towels, and nice little shampoo and bubble bath packets. It was so quiet and comfortable that I didn't want to leave. The full breakfast looked wonderful, but I just had juice, toast and coffee - but they have a lovely dining room and the staff couldn't have been nicer. I would happily stay here again.

I would love to stay here, I really would. However, I have come to the sad conclusion that the hotel may not want customers to do so and gave up. I wrote five emails to them last year, only one of which was replied to and not signed by anyone. I have applied to receive the advertised brochure four times and never received it. When I did at last get a reply, I was told that "Saturday and Sunday rooms are reserved for wedding receptions and parties. It would be better for you to come Monday to Friday. As I could fit in with their instructions (!), I could not pursue a booking. I tried again (four emails so far without reply) to book for next year (a total of five nights totalling 525 pounds) but they did not bother to reply to this potential income either. I would like to go there still, if only to discover if the front desk is manned by anyone called "Basil" or "Sybil".
