The Eurasia Restaurant is found in the 300 year old Royal George pub in the rural village of Hurst Green, East Sussex. The business is owned by a very friendly Jo Lee, who more often than not, can be found in the restaurant checking up to make sure her customers are happy and satisfied. The bar area shows off some interesting Oriental pieces and is great for pre and post-dinner drinks or just to use as a bar. There is a nice mix of regular locals as well as people who come to enjoy the food.
The food here is not like a typical Chinese restaurant/takeaway. In addition to some traditional favourites is an array of very tasty, well cooked, regional dishes from Singapore and Malaysia. It is always a struggle to choose from the menu because everything looks so good, you want to order it all. Luckily, Jo can package up your leftovers to take home if you order too much.
Jo, sources good quality ingredients and is diligent in ensuring that her chefs cook to her consistently high standard. Jo avoids GM foods and refuses to add unnecessary, artificial additives such as the flavour enhancer, Monosodiumglutamate (MSG), too commonly found in other establishments.
My family and I have enjoyed numerous great meals here. The only problem is that other Chinese restaurants no longer compare. It's well worth the journey for us.
