“Good pub food!”
Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

Just called in for a quick lunch today and the service and food were very good! The menu has lots to offer and somethin for everyone. We just had a chicken Cesar wrap and a chicken salsa wrap these come with salad and best of all HOME MADE CHIPS which were lovely and so hard to get anywhere these days as most places opt for the frozen kind! Will def be going back and with drinks it only cost £14!

We stayed two nights in one of the chalets and were very comfortable. The bathroom was excellent and the whole place was clean with a comfortable bed. We were very pleased with the all the dinners and breakfasts that we had. We stayed Friday and Saturday nights 15th and 16th Feb and although the hotel was very busy we were not disturbed by noise at all, and would certainly visit The Feathers again.

went here for mothers day lunch, there were 11 of us, including visiting american cousins, main course burnt yorkshire puddings, very poor choice of vegetables, roast potatoes not crisp. we ordered various different puddings, sherry trifle a dish of slushy cream, mostly and hardly any custard, little taste of sherry. we also had to wait a long time before we were able to go to the carvery. cousins were staying at hotel, and complained about the breakfast, asked for 3 eggs and no beans or mushrooms, was told not allowed 3 eggs not even offered the option of paying extra, not very good for foreign tourists.

Room Tip: ask for room in the outside bungalows as they have bigger showers

We stayed at The Feathers on Sat 2nd March as we were attending a wedding close by. Warm welcome and room, although quite old fashioned, was clean and cosy so we were happy it was value for money. It was a bit noisy in our room from a small 'nightclub' over the road in theearly hours, but I believe the courtyard rooms are quieter and we were advised of this when we booked, so can't really complain. Couple of things need to be mentioned - the shower in room 5 is so low over the bath (due to the shape of the room) that I struggled to fit under it, and my husband had to sit down and remove the shower head to have a shower. Breakfast service was slow and patchy, the waitresses didn't seem to have any concept of which tables order to take next, and so after waiting about 10 minutes (when it wasn't even very busy) I had to get up and ask for our order to be taken. First cup of coffee was cold, and they forgot to bring the toast. The quality and temperature of the cooked breakfast was really good however and so this may have been a one off. Overall enjoyed our stay and in a good location.

I visit this establishment regularly with my elderly parents, every time we go usually on a Wednesday we have no complaints about the food. Its the length of time from sitting down to eating is the problem. Its just to long and usually one or two other customers comment on this, the excuse from the service staff is well it is busy or we have a large party. Yesterday we were in the dinning room for two hours to have a two course meal, it was an hour before our first course, and it really was not full.I can only suggest that at busy times they should employ extra staff,in the Kitchen,to speed things up.

Stayed overnight on Sat 9th Feb in one of the courtyard rooms. It was a decent size, clean and decorated in relatively modern style. Wasn't disturbed by noise like an earlier reviewer. Staff very friendly. Breakfat very good.

Overall it was a good experience BUT
I have a funny family. Take that as you will.
There was noise from the pub but we knew it would stop at midnight.
There was noise in the car park but it stopped when the Police were called and they gave the guy a lift home.
My Aunt and Uncle were unable to sleep because of the noise nextdoor .... That was us the younger end and Uncle T.... Oooops but I don't think we were any louder than the guy in the pick up and the Police.
Then the night club thing started .....Above the Co-op is a club. at 2.30 my parents were still watching out of the window.
bed was comfy, rooms warm and clean, decorations dated but that doesn't matter, bedding and towels perfectly perfect.
Staff friendly and helpful. Someone had phoned in sick so we had a lovely young lady serving us breakfast. It was her first day (bless)
My parents discribed it as the worst night sleep of their lives.
I had more to drink.
OK for one night .... not a saturday.

Room Tip: THe chalets might be quieter on a saturday night ???? but who knows
