We have just come back from a lovely overnight stay at Rowley Manor after attending a wedding reception there and I must say we were quite impressed. We had one of the upgraded rooms and had a lovely view overlooking the fields and horses. The room was a nice size and had tea coffee making facilities and nice biscuits. We also had the bonus of a balcony however the weather was a little cool to benefit but lots of light from the two big windows and patio doors. The decor was in keeping with the era with many original features including a fire place and the pillows and bed were very comfortable. Plenty of towels and a heated towel rail my only gripe was the water was scalding hot (better than no hot water granted) and you could not regulate it for a shower without risking injury. In the end I opted for a bath to be on the safe side.

The bar has a lovely ambiance especially with the real fires, a little pricey but hotels generally are with all mixers and soft drinks in bottles. A good selection of drinks and very pleasant staff and a nice view of the grounds. The three course wedding meal was excellent and we had two vegetarians on our table who enjoyed their meal too. the food was hot with very efficient service. Breakfast did not disappoint either with a very good selection and noted that some of the staff at breakfast had been working on the evening shift too.

As previously stated on other reviews the check in/out could be a bit friendlier however overall we had an enjoyable and would recommend this hotel for a short break or a meal, we will certainly be looking to return.

After reading many of the negative reviews from some folks I was not expecting much but went with an open mind. We arrived before 2 but as we were the first to arrive both upgraded rooms were available for an extra £10 and ready too. You need to be aware that you have to go up 2 flights of stairs 2nd lot being very narrow when trying to carry cases. We were in room 9 nice viwe of open country side. We found the entrance to the bathroom seemed to be on a slope and you seemed to fall into the bathroom as oposed to walking in.(this was before a drink ha ha) The room was clean with tea and coffee making facilities with some biscuits. We went out and had lunch out. We eat dinner in the hotel 3 courses unfortunaly 3 of us ordered the belly pork after 10mins the waitress returned to say they had run out could we order something else.
Portion size very good food was good although service was a bit slow between courses. Staff very friendly roaring fire in the bar area and also reception. Would I stay here again yes would I recomend to friends yes. This was a travel zoo deal and excellent value.!!

Room Tip: We uograded and stayed in the four poster room 9. Be aware there a 2 flights of stairs to go up, the...

Decided at the last minute after getting an email from Friends of Rowley Manor to take ourselves off for an over night stay. This is our 4th visit to Rowley Manor and again we were not disappointed. Fab entertainment on this occasion plus a wonderful meal, comfortable room and a brill breakfast. Although we only live 45 mins away we love going to Rowley Manor for the occasional night away as the staff are all lovely and we always feel relaxed and enjoy our stay.

Room Tip: The stairs to the top floor are not suitable for the elderly if you struggle with stairs so make sur...

We stayed overnight on a special deal via friends of rowley offer and attended the irish st patricks night on Saturday. What a brilliant night!!! From the start of the evening to end was a success, with amazing atmosphere. It was nice to see many people dressed up in green, white and gold dancing to the good choice of music played by the irish band.. I'm not sure what they were called, but I assume they were a local band. We hope to be back soon again!!!

When we arrived on Sunday afternoon the place was busy with Sunday diners which boded well for the food. The evening meal certainly lived up to expectations and the cosy bar was perfect for a pre-dinner drink and after-dinner coffee. We paid the £10 to upgrade to a 4-poster bed - we were in room 4 which had a lovely ambience and a great aspect overlooking the gardens. The bed itself although beautifully authentic was on the small side, however everything else in the room was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was slightly disappointing, particularly after such an excellent evening meal - the choice was limited and I can't get my head round how American hash browns can be considered part of a "traditional English breakfast"!! The service throughout our stay was of a high standard and all staff were warm and welcoming. All in all a lovely stay.

Room Tip: If you're a 6 footer or like a bit of space between you in the bed, may be best avoiding room 4!
