“Lovely night away”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013 via mobile

Pulling up outside was a bit disappointing. I would have expected it to look more grand. However, once inside it was a different story. Lovely entrance hall leading to a grand reception area. The walls were full of old posters of theatre productions which made for a very interesting read. The chap at check was pleasant and efficient. Our room was on the third floor with a lovely view over snow covered field. It was cosy and warm and pleasantly decorated. The en suite was small but perfectly functional with complimentary toiletries. We left our bags and went to the bar where there was a roaring open fire - which we promptly plonked ourselves next to. The evening meal was lovely. All the staff were helpful with the small exception of the chap who served us in the bar per dinner. In the package we had booked we were to receive a glass of fizz and olives before dinner. We got the fizz but the bar man said - Oh no we' re not doing olives any more, that was just at Christmas. So we showed him the paper from our booking. He then went to ask someone and came back with the olives. We shouldn't have had to ask because that was part of the deal. But after all that we had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Beautiful Manor house with roaring fires, gorgeous high ceilings and wonderful countryside views. We upgraded to a four poster bed at a small cost of £10 (well worth it) and had a further bed placed in the room for our child. The evening meals were fantastic and the menu not too overwhelming. We enjoyed after dinner drinks in the bar on a comfy sofa in front of the fire. Staff are extremley friendly and very attentive, have already recommended the hotel to friends.

Room Tip: opt for the upgrade to a four poster

Stayed here in early December on a Groupon deal. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas and a lovely log fire was burning when we arrived on a freezing cold day. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, on the small side and the furnishings were somewhat dated as was the avocado bathroon - but that having been said all was very clean, tea & coffee facilities in room. Our evening meal was first class and breakfast the following morning had lots of choice, cereals, fruit juices, yogurts, full English breakfast, tea and coffee, toast and marmalade, definitely set us up for the day. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were happy to meet our requests. Would definitely recommend the hotel - it was lovely to sit in the breakfast room and watch the horses in the fields outside on a cold December day.

Room Tip: If you are booking a double room I should imagine the rooms at the back of the hotel have the best v...

If you're going to get snowed in, this is the place to be. Lovely real fires to welcome you, first-class service, well-prepared and presented food served piping hot.

This was a Groupon deal, offering excellent value, but the standard prices are reasonable. We were given 'Thank-you' discounts for future visits - which we shall certainly use.

Went for a family meal here and found the portions very small and paid a very heavy price for this. Th quality of the food was good but the service was a little poor . A grumpy old man as a waiter did not help. The place had a warm feeling but does need to move with the modern times.

We went to the Rowley Manor restuarant using a gropon voucher. It it an old Georgian Building. It has three separate rooms for dining two small and one large. We were warmly welcomed in at reception and shown to a cosy bar ,which had a lovely coal fire. We were given a glass of bubbly and left a short while to consider the menu. This is not exstensive with 4 starters, mains and sweets. We ordered and the food did not disappoint. It was well presented and absolutely delicious . We both had temporee prawns, my wife the beef and I had the pork followed by sticky toffee punding(the wife) and icecream(myself). An excellent meal served beautifully. We will certaily be going again.
