“Amazing home from home stay”
Reviewed January 17, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

What a fantastic place. Tucked away in a beautiful village this cottage does not disappoint. Three good size bedrooms and an amazing open plan room downstairs. We were a party of six and the cottage provides plenty of space. The kitchen is amazing and very well equipped and the joy of an utility room as well. There is one room with an en suite shower room which is lovely and large. The family bathroom is huge with a larger walk in shower and a bath too soak in.We stayed for Christmas and the owners Liz and John made it very look lovely with tree and lights. We all felt at home the minute we walked through the door. It has been done with style and quality fixture and fittings. One of the best.

“Ticks all the boxes plus more”
Reviewed September 3, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Kilderkin is a well designed & constructed property built to a high specification. The cottage is exceptionally well equipped, John & Liz have obviously put a lot of thought into the fixtures, fittings & equipment.

From the moment we walked in we felt comfortable & at home. Our grand children are not always good at bed time, particularly in unfamiliar places, but they both settled and at bedtime they wanted to go to bed. The children's toys & DVD's in the house provided them with lots to do when we got up & returned from a day out.

The location is ideal for the beaches at Studland, Swanage, the coastal path, Corfe, Wareham and Poole. A 5min walk down the road takes you to the Kings Arms. This is a traditional friendly pub serving excellent beers & ciders. We didn't eat there but the food looked fine, as one of the bar staff said, "it is pub grub".

There are too many good points to list on this review but the personal little touches were the icing on the cake for us.

All being well & if available we will definitely return

“Faultless Accommodation with personal touches”

We stayed in Kilderkin Cottage in Langton Matravers - a pretty Purbeck stone house in an equally attractive quiet village located close to many of the local facilities. The accommodation was faultless and the cottage was furnished impeccably by the owners. In each of the rooms attention had been paid to comfort as well as personal touches which were evident in all the rooms. We had such a lovely holiday and would love to return.

“Lovely cottage.”
Reviewed March 17, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent holiday at Kilderkin. The cottage was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The owners, Liz and John, were really helpful in setting up the cottage to meet our needs for the week. The location was very good within a small village with easy access to walks on the Jurassic coast. Only complaint was that we had to leave at the end of the week!

“An amazing place to stay!”
Reviewed December 8, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

My husband and I, along with our very lively two year old, stayed at Kilderkin Cottage at the end of September, and had a fabulous time.

Liz, the owner, was great during the booking process, really helpful and patient answering my questions and was more than happy to supply baby gates for our little one to keep him safe. Nothing was too much trouble.

When we arrived, we were so pleased with the cottage - it is beautiful! Home from home with everything you could need for a relaxing/very comfortable week away. It is beautifully furnished, we loved the open plan living area downstairs. The bedroom on the top floor was ideal for our little boy, with two single beds quite low to the ground which is ideal if you are worried about small children rolling out in the night! The weather during our stay was gorgeous during the day so we managed to spend a bit of time in the lovely garden - our toddler loved it!

The village is quiet, but had everything we needed - a local pub for a well earned drink, and our toddler and his daddy loved visiting the farm at the bottom of the hill for coffee every morning on the way to feed the donkeys in the field, it was the daily highlight for him! The location is excellent - we were minutes away from Swanage which was great for a walk along the beach. We went to Weymouth and used the Park and Ride which was another treat for our toddler. We visited the Blue Pool, where I had some happy memories from my own childhood (it doesn't seem to have changed much since but all part of the charm!). Again, our toddler loved running around the woodland walk looking for squirrels!

A must during your visit, if you have good weather, is to visit the Hive Beach Café at Burton Bradstock near Bridport. The coastal drive to get there is stunning and the beach/café were great, just watch the strong currents if you decide to take a paddle! We enjoyed a cream tea in the café, overlooking the beach and it was just lovely.

So, a really lovely stay - I would definitely recommend Kilderkin Cottage and the local sights. Liz and John were the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble they will make sure you have an amazing time. We hope to go back in the future - our toddler still talks about 'Dolly the Donkey' and the 'holidays house' even now. Thank you Liz and John, I wish you every success with your new venture!
