Campeche is a beautiful city and the Malecon adds to it. It is the perfect place for jogging. Go early as heat begins getting bad before 9am.

This is a beautiful old colonial city. Lovely pastel coloured buildings along cobbled streets. The old city walls are still place and the main Plaza is mesmerising. With a Mayan archaeological Museum Campeche has it all. Well worth a stop over. Give yourself a full day to meander around and visit the plaza area at night as it's just as stunning.

What a wonderful sleepy village, full of character, lovely people and a lovely place to browse at your own leisure. Speaking of the people they are readily to have a word with you, hand signs are a must, go to see this lovely place

The Malecon is well lit, with a walkway for pedestrians and another for bikes. There many people out running, walking, biking, rollerblading or just sitting along the wall enjoying the evening. It is very safe. Every evening there is at least one fitness class going on and one night people were doing yoga. On two separate evenings we grabbed a very delicious gelato that we found on a side street just off the Malecon, then walked back to our hotel enjoying every delicious mouthful. Perfecto!

We visited this town as a part of a Mayan Tour, and the old town itself is laid out so as to blend in with the more newer side, on the way we visited a typical shop making and selling straw hats, and also the old Pirate strong hold
