We were in Campeche for three nights. It's a nice town with some good food options. But some are a little further away or closed for dinner.
This place stays open late in an otherwise pretty quiet town. And it has a perfect location overlooking the Zocalo and the Cathedral. Your best bet is to sit on the balcony...there's room inside, but if the wheater allows sit outside.
The service here is pretty friendly and attentive. They do some decent - but not great - cocktails and have some good wine (try some Mexican Cab. Sauvignon - surprisingly good!). Or just go for a beer (Modelo is the best choice).
The food is pretty average here, but good enough to fill your stomach. We had the Arrachera (beef skirt steak), Fish Filet Veracruz and Chicken Fajitas. The beef was pretty good. Medium cooked - as ordered and tender. The fish wasn't that great....or that fresh. The Fajitas were pretty good on the other hand. Of course a little touristy, but fine.
But it's not much about the food here anyway. It's about the location, about the atmosphere. Just grab some drinks, have some food with and enjoy the night! And for that, this place is perfect!
