“Yet another beautiful B & B”
Reviewed April 14, 2012

We were on our way from Napier to Gisborne and wanted to spend a day at Lake Waikaremoana on the way, so decided to stop one night at Waihua and one at Mahia, both booked at the I SIte office in Napier. We could have spent days at Marie and John's, the facilities were wonderful - a separate residents' lounge which was huge and we had to ourselves, the use of a computer in the lounge, very comfortable beds, a nice little station with kettle and treats, and a glimpse of a beautiful terrace. The situation of the house was lovely. And very reasonably priced. I don't think it was particularly out of our way to Gisborne. The only downside is that there seem to be very few eating places - the food at Sunset Point Sportsbar is good if you like chips with everything, but it is very expensive for what it is.

Excellent B & B. John and Marie's place sits right above the beach with the Pacific Ocean in front of it. They have a lounge with glass windows that look out to the Pacific where you can watch the sun as it sets. At night, the sound of the waves were a lullaby as we fell asleep listening to it. John and Marie were very good hosts and we truly enjoyed our stay with them.

We went here with our grown-up daughter when we were visiting her in NZ. We travelled around the Norh Island and we found this B&B on the internet. We spent two nights and had a wonderful time! The house is very good. We had a living, two sleeping rooms and two bathrooms for ourselfs. And the hosts John and Marie were so friendly! We joined John catching crayfish and in the evening we had a lovely meal from it. It 's a pity it is too far away for us to come back, but the hosts, the house and its stunning view will be warmly remembered.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. We quickly felt like part of the furniture. Marie and John ... what fantastic hosts!! Loved John's story telling skills! Go John. The room was fabulous, the bed was oh so comfy and the beachfront views were to die for.
Take the time to go off the beaten track and find this jewel of a hideaway, you will so be rewarded if you do.
Thank you John and Marie. We will definately be back again.

Wow for a great kiwi experience seek this place out. What a couple ! What a place ! What a beautiful beach front setting. What amazing sunsets. We stayed 2 nights & should have stayed more time permitting. Lots to do but not too much. Hosts Marie & John just absolutely gorgeous and so relaxed but attentive we just felt at home - in comfort of course. Wonderful couple of days.
P.S. Go to the local takeaway at the camping grounds for the best fish n chips you've had since you were a kid. Prove us wrong......

We stayed for 3 nights with the Preddey's at their B & B . They were wonderful hosts and the accommodation was clean and comfortable and the location to view and beach were great. When I go back to area I would not hesitate to stay with them again.
