We have traveled to the Guasacate area many times over the past 12 years, and we were more than happy that owner Marco found the vision to build this esthetically unusual hotel, with all the amenities usually missing from lodging in Nicaragua. The private bath was a luxury for the girl (me) on this trip, as was the hot water, even though it wasn't much needed. An outdoor shower was available as well, which we used coming back from beach and surfing, right off the back patio through a small gate. An easy walk to the Popoyo break was great. The housekeeping/cook/day crew were sweet and helpful, and Marco the owner made the transaction easy and professional. Rooms were available with a/c, for add'l $. Icing on the cake was the night security, a locking closet within the room for valuables, a large room big enough to house a large quiver of boards and a firm king mattress. And the coolest design you've ever seen in a building. It's worth the trip just to stop by and have a beer in the kitchen, and check out the staircase to the room upstairs (which has a fabulous balcony). One of our best stays anywhere, in or out of Nicaragua.
