Very nice place to stay at. Got a very good deal from Grab One. The swimming pool could have been warmer, as it was too cold to get in, or prehaps have an outdoor spa. Bed was very comfrotable and the decor was very clean and modern.

I found this hotel in a special deal from an online site called dailydo. Before booking with dailydo i phoned the hotel to check if they have rooms with disabled facilities as my husband is confined to a wheelchair. The lady I spoke with was very helpful and said that if i phoned her back with my dailydo code she would book the room for me. I did this and at the same time requested an extra bed in the room for my 5yr old. Having done this we then arrived at the hotel on the organised date to find that the room had not been confirmed for us and the only two disabled rooms had been given to other people. My husband then had to spend the weekend in a normal hotel room unable to use the bathroom facilities and we were given a bottle of wine to make up for the inconvenience (not really a fair trade if you ask me).
The day before our arrival at the hotel I had also phoned with some questions about the menu as we have a fussy 5yr old who only eats plain meat and pasta and raw veg and salad. The person that I spoke with on the phone was also exceptionally helpful and said that the kitchen would be happy to cater to any of those foods if we weren't in a hurry when we ordered or could pre-order earlier. We chose to have dinner in the hotels restaurant on our second evening and I explained to our waiter about my telephone call and asked if we could have a small plain steak, salad and maybe a little pasta, but that the pasta wasn't necessary. Another waiter came over with our waiter and handed us two menus saying that we would need to choose from those (what had happened to being so accomodating). In the end it was agreed that they could give him an adult steak with salad, but when the food arrived it was steak on top of potato and cooked spinach and topped with mushrooms. We did finally get some salad and I wiped the mushrooms off the steak, but it wasn't without hiccups.
After saying all of that, the staff were all lovely and I possibly would give them another chance to get it all right

We checked into Oceans in the afternoon. It took us longer to get here than we thought because there was a lot of road work. In NZ this means waiting on the two lane roads, now one lane, for opposing traffic to come through. The location of Oceans is perfect overlooking the marina. We got a room with a view of the marina and word of warning, the restaurant has seating out front which is right under the marina view windows so it could be noisy if there is a large party. We had no problem with the noise. The rooms are large and clean. Although there is a desk, the lighting wouldn't be sufficient for a lot of work. This is the best place to stay if you are diving or fishing from the marina. The pool is ok- no hot tub which would have been nice. The restaurant is good and there is breakfast included which was great before the dives. I would stay here again.

We selected this hotel based on their convenient location to the harbor and dive boats but at this point would look around for another locale when we come back. The room is nice enough and the view is stunning, but with no air you must leave the windows open which meant that the bar noises below kept us from sleeping the first night. There is no explanation sheet or booklet in the room as is expected in such a place as to what services are available or even how internet works. Given the price of the accomodation you would expect internet to be included in the price, but it is another charge and one that works oddly. We left a couple of items on the first boat and later these folks asked whether the hotel had given them to us when we returned. We checked twice to no avail- it's clear that our property took a walk in the care of this hotel.

Overall we were not impressed with anything but the view in the hotel. It's okay but quite pricey for what they actually deliver.

We decided on this hotel due to its proximity to the marina knowing we would need to be there early for our dive trip. It was clean and the included breakfast was fine. Restaurant/bar on the main floor fun/nice enough, but ++ noisy if you want to have your room windows open. The room was large with a fan at one end and the beds at the other, so hot with no air circulation at night. We asked to change rooms and were told no, but they would bring a fan. It was one of those fans used if you have a flood....like having a helicopter in the room. We ended up moving the furniture ourselves and the rest was fine, but the staff we spoke to just wasn't very helpful.

We got married on the beach at Sandy bay and then had our reception at Oceans. Many family and friends stayed at Oceans and loved it too. Silke was so helpful with all the ammendments with numbers and nothing seemed to be a hassle. Planning from Australia was OK as the staff were so helpful. We were greated with Champagne the night before the wedding by one of the owners and they along with all of there staff were very professional over the wedding period and never short of a friendly smile. The food was delicious and the duty manager ensured everything flowed nicely. Thanks for a memorable stay and magical wedding reception Sarah and the team at Oceans!
