What happened? We had a brill experience for Christmas lunch two years ago and so decided to return this year. What has happened? Waiting silly long times for overcooked meals! Beef tough and over cooked, roast potatoes so hard they needed soaking in gravy(which was over seasoned) to eat, and overcooked veg! The whole meal was sub standard! We gave up at 3 pm and didn’t wait for coffee and chocs as we had sat there for 3 hrs!!
Sorry Oak House, you were being greedy by filling your bar with lunchtime tables and not having enough staff to cover!!
So sad after our previous experience!
Won’t come back which is sad as we loved our lunch previously!!

Stayed one night. Set in lovely village square, this old inn had plenty of charm and a maze if corridors. We did not use restaurant as we had already arranged our evening, but I'm told it has a great reputation. Good location as a centre to explore.
