“A comfy, cosy, well located holiday let”
Reviewed August 20, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

I have just arrived home after a 5-day stay at The Garden Room. I traveled with my 9 year old son and we both had the most brilliant week in the beautiful Mendips.

The accommodation is exactly as described, clean, very comfortable with a lovely hot shower. Sarah and Rob are very welcoming hosts and Sarah was available for a chat whenever we needed to ask a question, either about the accommodation or things to do in the surrounding area.

I had an issue with my car while I was away and Sarah did absolutely everything she could to help me get it sorted out.

The Garden Room is located in Axbridge, extremely pretty area of Somerset, and offers easy access to many local attractions and is ideally placed for plenty of excellent walks. There are three places to eat in the immediate area and all can be reached in less than 2 minutes walk.

The town square is incredibly pretty and very quiet, there is very little traffic and it feels very safe.

There is a Co-op on the square which is open from 7am until 10pm, 7-days a week so you'll never be stuck for essentials.

I would very highly recommend staying at The Garden Room.

Liked best: The peace and quiet!
Liked least: If I was forced to pick something (which is difficult as it was all great!) the WiFi signal is a little patchy. Only an issue if you intend to stay in and work for your entire stay!

“Very convenient for town centre”
Reviewed August 3, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Lovely property very close to quaint town centre with a few shops, two pubs and a hotel. Needed to unload car then park it a little way down the road but not a problem as the weather was lovely for our stay. Walked round the reservoir, spent time in the pubs and watched a couple of the DVD's provided.
Wifi was a little hit and miss but OK overall.
Very peaceful location.

“A perfect base”
Reviewed July 22, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The Garden Room is ideally situated to explore Somerset in the day and then leave the car to sample the local ciders in the evening. The accommodation is perfect for a couple who are out all day, it is well equipped (if you wanted to cook which I didn't!) and very peaceful. The village itself is delightful. There is a book in the Garden Room entitled the Axbridge Trail which is a must. It was very interesting and you will miss lots of facts if you don't do it, the history is staggering. There are two pubs and a hotel which offers bar facilities and a restaurant so you don't need to go far in the evenings. You can also walk to Cheddar Gorge which took us about 1 hour at a slow speed (it was a very hot day!) and Cheddar reservoir is only a 5 minute walk away so if there are any fishermen out there it is ideal. Thank you to Sarah for providing such a quaint and pleasant sanctuary from the hustle and bustle, we had a great time and are hoping to return.

“A Somerset Stunner”
Reviewed June 4, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Our accommodation at The Garden Room was lovely-everything one could need for a comfortable stay whilst enjoying our holiday in Somerset. Axbridge is a dear little village and conveniently situated for easy access to most parts of this stunning county. Sarah and Rob are very kind hosts, and we had the most amazing week visiting as many of the fantastic National Trust properties(of which Somerset has a LOT) as possible!
Thankyou!

“Idyllic quaint one up one down apartment”
Reviewed May 27, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Axbridge is a wonderfully quaint picturesque village / town to base oneself for exploring the mendips and Somerset levels. It is in easy reach of beautiful countryside for hill walking, light treking and easy or ambitious cycle rides along quiet roads and route 26 cycle way. Cheddar gorge and caves, Wells and Glastonbury are within a short distant. The apartment is well equipped and full of character. The owners are delightful and helpful. Ample street parking is a minute away. An excellent choice!

“Just perfect”
Reviewed October 26, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Perfect locatIon within the county(Cheddar gorge 5 minutes away) and village, step outside and you have the village pub, 100 meters away from the square and we were lucky to be there for the Saturday local produce market.. The place is perfectly sized with all amenities and so welcoming, just like our hosts. Thank you, Sarah.

“Lovely accommodation for a couple”
Reviewed September 23, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The Garden Room is right in the ancient town of Axbridge so very convenient for pubs and restaurants. It is near Cheddar Gorge, Weston Super Mare and Burnham on Sea so there is plenty to do in the area. The accommodation is very well equipped with everything we needed supplied. There was a good supply of DVDs and the wifi worked well. There is no parking at the property but it was always easy to find parking nearby. The owner was very helpful and it seemed as though she really wanted us to have a nice time.
