My wife and I stayed at the Reservoir View Motel in October and found the room very clean with a good heater which was required as the weather had turned a bit colder. The heater warmed the room nicely.
The bathroom and shower, although a little small, was spotlessly clean with a good hot shower.
Tea and coffee facilities were also provided with one hot chocolate and one pack of biscuits.
The beds were lovely and comfortable and gave a really good night's sleep.
Breakfast was available at an extra cost and we chose to eat elsewhere (Almshouse in Axbridge - superb) but all in all the Reservoir View was good value and in a good location (5 minutes to Cheddar Gorge). We would visit again when in the area.

Staff called us earlier in the day to let us know that if we were arriving by a certain time there would be no staff available and therefore made other arrangements for our check in.
Car Parking was good and on site.
Area was incredibly quiet and our sleep was not disturbed for our two night stay.
We did not really interact with the staff other than checking out.
Great location for Cheddar Gorge (10 minute drive) or even Wookey Hole caves (25 minute drive).
Rooms were clean and warm, with a good shower. Bed was a little stiff so a longer stay may have been uncomfortable.

The owners were welcoming and helpful, we were late arriving the lady phoned the local pub and booked the group in for a meal so they are prepared to put themselves out. The rooms are spacious and clean. A little bit far for my liking to walk to the gorge but that's me being picky. We didn't eat here as it was expensive £13 for breakfast a little bit to much for my liking. Worth a visit.

Room Tip: Wrong for me to rate service as we didn't eat here

Smoking and talking at a table right outside our room which wafted in. Made us feel very awkward having a group of workmen right outside. NO Reservoir view or any view at all. Only saw what we took to be the owner when we first got there and he came across as a grumpy so and so. Didn't see anyone again for the duration. Basic but clean room. No information on local area in room - just a couple of miles from Cheddar Gorge but you'd never know!

We stayed here on the second night of our Land's End to John O'Groats cycle ride. Unfortunately, this happened to coincide with one of the longest winters on record, as a result we were all pretty cold by the end of the day. On arrival here, the rooms were very cold and took a long time to warm up. There wasn't any central heating (just one electric fire) and it felt like there hadn't been any heating on for a while.

However, the room was spacious and had everything we needed. The owner was friendly and provided us with a secure shed to store our bikes in overnight. Breakfast wasn't included in the price but was more than enough to keep us going on the road until lunchtime.

I booked the Reservoir View Motel as a last minute weekend getaway. Overall, it's adequate as a budget option, but after reading other reviews I guess we were expecting something more special. Breakfast cost an additional £10 per day for a couple, so at £65 a night for B&B I'm not sure that it represents great value.

The rooms are basic (not sure what the 'hotel amenities' mentioned by other reviewers were-possibly the trouser press?) but clean and tidy. Service was ok too, friendly enough, but not especially warm or welcoming. Breakfast is continental rather than cooked, and is accompanied by the shouts of the owners children playing in the rooms adjoining the breakfast room.

I have nothing against this place as a budget choice, but if I was coming to Axbridge again I would try to find a local pub offering B&B, as you need to find somewhere to eat for the evening in any case.
