“Facinating place”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

As expected it was unusual to say the least. Very interesting, lots to see in the rooms as it's a museum. Most unusual were the sloping floors upstairs. No charges then but donations welcomed

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

This small local museum is housed in a 15th century wood-framed building known as King John's Hunting Lodge. They make no secret of the fact that the building was constructed some 250 years after King John died and therefore was never used as his hunting lodge, the name in fact was given to it very early in the 20th century when trade descriptions were not so important! The museum is spread on three floors and covers the geology, archaeology and local history of the little town of Axbridge and its environs. Some fascinating exhibits and well worth the £2.50 entrance charge.

“Quirky going back in time”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

If you are disabled, it can cause a problem, but then this is an original building. Very well presented part of our history and hats off to the town for preserving and making their history available to visitors.
