“Pretty beach but not so special”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

Surprised how highly rated this destination is. It's nice and the snorkeling was the least impressive on the island. The fun part is the hike in.

“Worth the hike”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

Nice sandy beach. Not overly crowded. to get there park at the end of the bars at friars bay beach then follow. The marked trail. After going through the gate make sure you stay left other wise you will walk to grand case.(ps you are walking around a field with cows ) to beach its about 15min.not a path for people with unsure footings. No amenities there other than a picnic area. Water has some rocks getting in. Good amount of shade trees.some nudity too

“not a special one..”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We did go for a day. You need to drive to Friar's beach and park. Take the path on your right just before the friar's bay beach. it is often muddy. The happy bay beach is very ordinary, nothing special about it. there is no restaurant. For food/drinks, you need to go back to Friar's bay beach.

“Happy day at Happy Bay!”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

The Wife and I have been to St. Martin 3 times in 2013 and we have been to many a beach but Happy Bay has to be my current favorite.. I love it because it is secluded, off the beaten path (literally) and there are no bars around.

We went to Friars Bay and parked there as far as we could to the edge of the woods and began walking up what seemed to be a very very steep incline. After the initial steep incline it was just a narrow path through the lightly wooded area, up a hill, down a hill, through an open fence with a picturesque door, then down hill farther until the beach.

Clothing is optional here so there were a few nude folks chilling out. We were immediately relieved when we approached the beach because we were worried that we were going to trek it through the woods with our bags and our cooler for nothing but it paid off.. beautiful beach...

We walked to the far side and laid out there all day.. we will be back

“Quiet beach”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Walk the path and have a day on Gilligan's Island, take water and food with you. Small and quiet beach little rocky at one end but not bad.
