“As Pictured”
Reviewed March 15, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

This Villa was exceptional. It was up to- date, clean and extremely well kept.
A daily view of the turquoise water of the Caribbean can be seen from all areas of the property.
David was attentive but not at all intrusive.
Everything that we could possibly need was available.
The week we stayed was unusually windy but coming from the snowy and cold northeast U.S. it was still warm and enjoyable.
The ocean had a good surf but no undertow and was fun to swim in. A sandy bottom too!.
The beach was private but because of the wind and surf it was beginning to erode by the end of the week, but there was still room for our lounge chairs.

There were some stairs from the Villa to the beach but that was okay with us because that kept the Villa secluded and gave us that VIEW. It was awesome.

We were able to walk down the beach to the Westin to eat and gamble. That was fun too, and I even won a few bucks.
Our group of 7 adults had more than enough room inside and also on the patio.
We will definitely be back to stay at Villa Oyster Pearl.

It was a pleasure having you all to stay. The unusual high winds were a godsend for the Heineken regatta, which has been becalmed in the past! The beach always amazes me and, although it took a battering, is making a swift recovery. Posting pics today on FB. Next time you come try out our new 180deg snorkel masks for the best snorkeling on Saint Maarten, Where else but Oyster Pearl on Dawn Beach.
We are looking forward to seeing you all again very soon.

“Wow what a great vacation”

WOW! What a fantastic vacation. It would not have been the same without this beautiful home. The sunrises every day, the breeze, accessibility to the ocean, not to mention the equipment we could use made it worth every penny. First we received a call from David, before we left to see if we had any questions. Offered to pre-stock the kitchen for us, so we didn't have to worry about groceries. We were meeting at the car rental by Davis, who helped guide us through this vacation. Got us to where we needed to go and checked in on us, to make sure everything was OK. If we forgot a question, he was only a phone call away. My hopes we can make this an annual trip and book it again. Beautiful home, island and people. Juleen

“Piece of Paradise”
Reviewed September 3, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary at Villa Oyster Pearl in St. Maarten.
Villa Oyster Pearl is a piece of paradise nestled into the hillside, set in large gardens teaming with local flora and fauna with Pelicans gliding overhead. The gardens lead down to a private sundeck above a beautiful white sandy beach, warm azure sea and coral reefs abundant with many species of tropical fish.
The villa itself is beautiful with its marble floors throughout, tasteful furnishings and impeccable decoration. All areas were air conditioned.
The views over Dawn beach and the ocean across to St Bart’s are stunning.
The lounge has large floor-to-ceiling windows through which you can admire the spectacular vista.
Bedrooms are spacious with the main bedrooms having on-suite shower rooms and sea views.
The spacious veranda is well equipped with seating, dining table and sundeck adjoining a swimming pool for when you needed to cool down or watch the moonlight on the sea with a glass of champagne.
Few places boast a coral reef at the bottom of the garden but that is exactly what Oyster Pearl offers. Snorkelling is excellent and some of the best reefs are just off the beach directly below the Villa.
Oyster Pond itself is one of the nicest areas on St. Maarten with restaurants, a convenience store and marina within walking distance of the villa.
Thank you to David for creating a fantastic setting for a perfect vacation, Davis and his wife for taking us to and from the airport and Natesha for keeping the place spotlessly clean.
I would recommend Villa Oyster Pearl whether a couple seeking a romantic retreat or a family looking for a spacious, extremely well appointed holiday accommodation.

“Beautiful house with breathtaking view”

We stayed at Villa Oyster Pearl for our St. Maarten trip in June. We have combination of young kids, teenagers, adults, and a senior in our group, and all of us had fabulous time. The house is clean and well equipped. We signed up the pre-stock service, so when we arrived there are food and drink already put away in the fridge and pantry. Can't tell you how great it is after the long journey and arrived seeing such a beautiful view with a cold drink in hand. Perfect way to start a vacation!

All interior, exterior, and landscape of the house shown it's under very good care. The house has a great layout and situated at a perfect spot where sea breeze is constant and view is breathtaking. We had a fantastic stay, and will definitely be back!

“Paradise”

Our stay at Villa Oyster Pearl was a dream come true. The villa is a paradise by the sea. The ocean breezes and walks on the beach will always be in our memories. The children played in the sea everyday. When they were not in the sea they were in the pool.
My husband and I enjoyed nights on the veranda gazing at the stars and feeling warm breeze at night.
This villa is a magical place. I would recommend it to couples because it's so romantic. I would also say how great it is for children. There is no drive to the beach. You walk down the steps and you are on Dawn Beach.
The view of St. Barths is breathtaking.
The caretaker Davis took great care of our family. The owner David made the booking very easy for us. He has thought of everything. We are grateful for his kindness.
We will return again and again to Villa Oyster Pearl. Thank you again David for sharing the villa with our family.

“Finally found paradise!”
Reviewed February 14, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

If a picture is worth a thousand words, the real life view from Villa Oyster Pearl is worth a million! It's been said in many other reviews, but I feel compelled to repeat the sentiment as it was my very first impression upon stepping through the front door. Our group of 6 adults booked the villa based on research and photos from the website (which thoroughly impressed us), but as David and Stacey gave us our initial tour I couldn't help but think "have we been unknowingly upgraded??". I have to give much credit to Stacey's warm welcome at Empress car rental, followed by her superior navigation across the island to our home for the week - as this really set the tone for the rest of our experience!

As David guided us through the villa, explaining all we needed to know to make our stay carefree, he truly made us feel like guests rather than clients. Instantly, we we acclimatized to our 'home away from home' for the week, on this upscale property with all the comforts of home...and more!

Throughout the week we marveled at the view from every room in the villa and every point on the property, including the back patio which was surrounded by the most wonderful gardens. While the interior living space warrants a 5-star review on its own, we spent most of our time at the villa (when not at the beach our out and about on the island) on the veranda overlooking the sea - which I affectionately refer to as my new happy place :) As for the view of the Weston, we noticed it for an initial split second, but once our eyes diverted to the rest of the breathtaking sites, we truly did not noticed again.

After a leisurely morning coffee, most days began with a trip to the bakery for fresh croissants to accompany our mimosa's (thank you Stacey for the inaugural trip!). We would then retreat to what felt like our private beach, which was always freshly raked with sun chairs ready and waiting thanks to Davis, the invisible property caretaker....who would magically appear for anything we needed but would otherwise remain unseen. We often wondered how he could possibly maintain such beautiful grounds in such an inconspicuous manner!

While we had all the toys and amenities needed to be fully satisfied without ever leaving the property, we did venture out for dinners at Ocean 82, Canoa and Captain Olivers, all recommended by David, and now also recommended by us! We also had a dinner catered in by Chef Romain, and if I had to complain about something it would be that his creations are just too darn good to pass up a single bite! I think we may have skipped croissants for breakfast on the following morning just that once ;)

The island and the people of St Maarten are just so lovely (I was lucky enough to enjoy some time with one local family on the beach), we were glad to have rented a vehicle to explore the sites, which were all close enough to do in one day, yet still far enough away that our 'home' felt peaceful, secluded and blissfully remote while we were there.

Two last things I must mention: The Moccamaster coffeemaker for the serious coffee drinkers in our group was an astonishingly pleasant surprise :) ....and 'our' dog Max! While he kept his distance at first (very polite puppy), once we invited him to greet us we became besties just like that! We miss Max just as much as we miss every morning's sunrise at Villa Oyster Pearl!

“Everything was fantastic! We will definitely be back!”
Reviewed February 8, 2016 for a stay in November 2015

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the Oyster Pearl in November of 2015 and had a blast. David, the owner of the property, right from the beginning was so customer service oriented by answering a barrage of questions that I had prior to even booking the Villa.

There was a house attendant available 24/7 for our every need, who lived right next door. She was pleasant, professional, helpful and offered advise on where to travel on the island. We were able to email her before we left and gave her a list of groceries we would like stocked in the house while we were there. To our surprise everything was very reasonably priced, and she got us exactly what we wanted down to the brand name.

There was a small leak coming from the roof, which didn't bother us at all, and the staff had it address and fixed within 1 day.

Although the beach outside of our property was a little bit of a walk down a steep rocky slope (wear your shoes) it was gorgeous. The pool attached to the house was always kept clean, and was such a wonderful place to just hangout and relax in during the day. The house was organized, clean, and can be locked up at night "like Fort Knox" as my husband explains. There is a working washer and dryer in the house, so there is no need to overpack like we did!

All of the food we had was delicious, the French side of the island especially.

I cannot remember the name of all the beaches we drove too, but each one was better than the last. If you have the time, we highly suggest taking a 5 minute boat right to Pinel Island. This was by far one of the most gorgeous places I've ever seen in my life (a very second to Turks & Caicos).

I could go on and on about how great our stay was, but why not book this Villa right now and see for yourself!?

Thank you for making our honeymoon so wonderful. We can't wait to come back.

Sincerely,
The Halses
