Owner description: Capt. Morgan is a perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon time! Our Captan and the professional crew will take you to experience traditional sailing, on a 65 ft schooner, on a discovery of the beautiful southern coast of the island. You'll see almost all on this trip! You'll see Simpson Bay and Maho Bay (Nowhere else in the world will you get this close to a landing jumbo jet, like a 747 just a few yards above your head. What a rush!), sailing to Baie Longue (Long Bay), once a rich and famous beach on the Island, and one most beautiful and peaceful white sand beaches of the island's, where you will anchor a maximum of 120 ft from the beach for the BBQ lunch on board and swimming or snorkeling (snorkeling equipment provided). Baie Longue offers total tranquility and with this stunning backdrop, everybody can 'de-compress' with the occasional dip in the crystal waters and regular visits to the floating bar. If your goal is simply to relax and do as little as possible, you can recline in comfort on Capt. Morgan's large on-deck sun lounges while sipping the special rum punch and soaking up the sunshine listening to the wonderful Caribbean music. Then you set sail and head back to Philipsburg being pushed along by the trade winds. Relaxing music, a complimentary bar and a tropical fruit salad gets you back to the cruise ship pier. Captain Morgan is not as big as the party boats. Leaving the crowds behind you, Capt. Morgan welcomes a maximum of 25 passengers to ensure an ambiance of private luxury. That leaves plenty of room on the deck with spots of shade and lots of sun. All cruises on Capt. Morgan are staffed by a friendly crew who will accompany you throughout your tour and treat you to fabulous service. By us is never crowded and is well suited for the sun bather who prefers privacy and quiet. Its also perfect for a romantic afternoon picnic with your significant other. Note: Space is limited to no more than 25 passengers. For safety reasons, lounge chairs are not available onboard the schooner. Guests should consider their physical fitness level and medical history when determining whether this tour is appropriate. Guests with cardiac conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, other heart or respiratory conditions or any other medical condition should take particular caution when selecting a tour with snorkeling/swimming elements. Guests who have concerns should consult with their personal physician before engaging in any activity that may be strenuous for them. The minimum age for participation is 3 years old. There is no beach stop on this tour

I went on Captain Morgan's Sailing adventure for my wedding recently with 5 other friends. This was the highlight of our trip. Beautiful scenery, awesome snorkeling, nice light lunch, and a great ship make this a great activity for the day. Don't forget to have the ribs and couscous!

“Awesome would do it again”

There were six of us ladies from across Canada.5 did the Captain Morgan tour one couldn't be out in the sun that long.At least we knew there was limited shade before we got there. Wonderful Captain(Serge) And first mate(Julian) Hope I spelled your names right. They answered all our questions made us feel comfortable. Also made sure we had water, pop, snacks, when we started. Also after we got going some great rum punch. If we wanted anything they said to ask. But they were there before we had too. Some people had the option to snorkel, swim or stay on board life vest, snorkel gear were provided. Even pool noodles.Julian jumped in with rum punch and glasses for a human floating bar. There wasn't lots of water life that day but lots of angel fish. The good captain BBQed Ribs so when they came back on board we all had 2 salads and ribs which were cooked perfectly. After lunch we sailed back along the beautiful coast. Thanks again guy's

“Best excursion so far...”
Reviewed July 23, 2010

We just returned a few weeks ago from our cruise on Explorer of the Seas. We went on Captain Morgan's Sailing Adventure and thought it was the best excursion we've experienced so far (4 cruises). The food and drink were excellent and the supply was unending. On the ride out we were offered water, soda and a snack. The barbecued lunch was ribs, potatoes and salad, all of it being delicious! We also got fruit for dessert and more drinks, if desired (water, soda, rum punch). We would recommend this excursion to anyone and we plan to book it again when we return to St. Maarten on future cruises! We give it an A+++

“Captain Morgan's Sailing Adventure”
Reviewed March 7, 2010

This was the excursion we booked during our port stop at St. Maarten during our cruise on the Celebrity Solstice. If I had to sum up this excursion in 2 words, I would use the following: mediocre and overpriced.

Before you book this excursion, beware that the boat is extremely small for the number of people it brings on the tour (especially if you have a full occupancy boat like we did). There is limited space to lie down and very little shaded areas—making the trip extremely uncomfortable. The first 2.5 hours is spent sailing to the snorkeling location. There is only water provided during this portion of the excursion and it would have been nice if the captain had provided information about the island. Rather, we sat in silence until we arrived at our snorkeling spot.

When we arrived at the snorkeling spot, there were few fish to be seen (it was very windy this day, so this may partially be the reason for this). Although the boat appears to be close to shore, the water is extremely deep so for those who don’t know how to swim you will be stuck on the boat the entire time. The captain BBQs the meal onboard the ship and the food is mediocre at best. This meal includes ribs, potatoes, and salad. Beer was provided on the way back from the snorkeling location, which sadly may be the highlight of the trip. Overall, definitely not worth the $90 we spent on this tour….I would say it is worth $50-$60.
