this is a great place if you wanna visit Nakuru National Park.
we spent two nights in there camping, the area is spacious, clean and green; showers are quite often cold but we are in africa and we can't complain. in the evening staff usually prepare a fire where you can stand relaxing and watching sthe starry sky. you can play ping pong, darts or pool. Nice place. very recommended

This was a wonderful stay. The owners Zoe and Andrew were the perfect hosts and this trip felt like a home from home. The farm is lush and green with the most amazing plants I have ever seen. Each cottage has it's own personality and privacy. The staff were polite and unintrusive, especially Issac who was amazing. The food was plentiful and delicious cooked on your own cottage. So great to have a cosy fire to curl up in front of at night after a perfect days sightseeing. They have a cosy bar and pizza oven on site.
This is a real treat and I cannot recommend it highly enough if you are travelling this way.

Fantastic comfortable spacious accomodation.great food and wonderful setting on a working farm, it gave us a chance to tour a working farm in Kenya, we enjoyed seeing some excellent woollen products being exported from the farm.
we came into a roaring fire each night, and enjoyed the hearty food served at each meal.

Room Tip: All the houses were lovely, but we had the large homestead furthest from the restaurant, it was luxu...

This was my 3rd visit to Kembu, I have previously visited with my family and had a perfect February stay in Albizia cottage where I really enjoyed sitting in the sun reading a book knowing that it was snowing at home. On my most recent visit in July I was with a group of 36 camping in our own tents. Two of our party chose to stay in Acacia cottage and like all the other cottages you feel like you've got your own private garden and it's very peaceful. Zoe and Andrew are both very helpful and assisted us to book transport including a great game drive in Lake Nakuru Park. We had pizza one night from the pizza oven which was delicious.
It was a first visit for the rest of the party and they all want to return and I will definitely be back.

For us, Kembu symbolises peace, tranquillity, beauty and birds! Having stayed at Mutati Cottage twice now we are convinced it is the most magical of places to stay. It has quite quirky touches (bits of wood for towel racks), a roaringly warm fire (asked the barman for another basket of dry wood and quick as a flash it arrived on our doorstep!), utterly romantic upstairs bedroom with an incredibly lovely and private balcony surrounded by scented climbers and colourful creepers. It is a little cottage for 4 tucked away from everyone else with the perfect terrace in front for breakfast, painting, reading and especially bird watching with the binoculars. Whenever we plan a trip to Kenya, Kembu must always feature in our itinerary - how could it not with all it has to offer for those in need of simplicity, warmth of welcome and .....hot showers!! Food was delicious and drinks competitively priced - you can eat either in your cottage or beside a huge fire in the bar. And as for the owners - Zoe and Andrew pushed the boat out for us in our hour of need at great personal cost for which we will always be so grateful. Can you ask for more in a foreign land?

We stayed at the Kembu Campsite as a group of friends with children getting away for a couple of days. We booked the cottage, tree house and carriage. My son and I had the tree house which was great. He is 7 and thought it was awesome. It was clean and simply furnished and whilst it is no hilton hotel it was perfect for what it represented.

The food was great and well cooked but there is no choice so you have to eat what is on offer. They also offer a packed lunch option which we took advantage of and that was superb and very well provided.

The owners are very hospitable and welcoming and I think I would return as a family to experience the campsite.

The location of the campsite is good but off the beaten track so good for those who are prepared to experience a more rural Kenya however it is a good 20 mins to drive to Nakuru of the game drive.

If you stay at the campsite ask about the knitting project and visit that before you leave. It's a must and so worth while.

We only had one night in the lovely Acacia Cottage on 12th September 2012 having a long journey from the Masai Mara on not great roads what a haven Kembu was. We took the option to have our evening meal in Acacia cottage what a wise choice that was as the heavens opened shortly after our arrival. This is a very spacious Cottage with a large conservatory as your lounge area with table and chairs to eat a fire if needed and lots of candles. What made our stay here extra special
1. The owner being so helpful allowing us to sit on there verandah and use the internet to help resolve an issue with our next accommodation (Lake Baringo Club flooded) & play with the dogs.
2. The spacious Acacia cottage with lots of candles so when the power went off we were well covered and a very romantic cosy place to spend the night.
3. The evening meal was amazing when we booked we thought the food seemed pricey but really enjoyed it all from the warm home made bread to the wonderful chocolate pudding served by the chef in our room made for a very special evening I will remember.
4. The grounds were beautiful, very well kept and with gorgeous views and Ibis wondering the grounds.
We had a few problems to resolve whilst we were there but managed to have a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Acacia was very spacious and off on its own so very quiet with great views of the garden, if you wan...
