We arrived there with an overland trip and in love in this beautiful place, there is a camp site but we decide to take one of cottages, first couple days we stayed in Albizia Cottage which is big, with kitchen, two bedrooms and bathrooms, fire place and nice terrace, rooms are decorated nicely with a feeling that you're home. We have seen Mutati Cottage too which is charming too, two stories cottage with two bedrooms nicely decorated. Next cottage we stayed in was called Acacia perfect for a couple with comfy veranda and old acacia tree. They don't take credit cards, and campsite is far from any civilization if you need to be closer to city is not easy to get from there .

Kembu offer camping facilities and self-catering cottages. The cottages are well designed and our cottage (Kenana) had an excellent kitchen. There is a great bar and good kitchen so you can also take the half or full board options. The food is pretty good. Our cottage was very private with its own garden and daily visits from any number of the farm dogs. The farm does sell some farm produce, so check with management before you arrive and if you are a meat eater then I really recommend you buy some of their fillet steak. They also provide farm fresh milk and eggs. Friendly staff and management. This was not our first visit and won't be our last. We find it a great place to stop for a couple of nights on the way to Baringo, or just to get out of Nairobi. Don't miss out on a visit to the Kenana Knitting shop.

We received an extremely warm welcome, despite arriving far later than expected. Dinner was wonderful, conversation lively and the atmosphere relaxed. Our hosts breakfasted with us, despite the ungodly hour, and again provided us with delicious food and great conversation to start our journey with. Pity we were unable to stay longer. Would definitely return!

We spent two days at Kembu in late September and it was lovely. The grounds are gorgeous. The hosts and the staff couldn't be nicer. The cottage was cute and comfortable. We booked it as a place to adjust to jet lag for a couple of days and it couldn't have been more relaxing. In addition, the hosts were very helpful in giving advice about our travels and helping us make arrangement. I heartily recommend it.

We had two lovely stays in August, a two-night stay whilst we visited Nakuru park and then a one-night stay as a stop-over from Baringo to the Maasai Mara. We were in different cottages, both lovely, well-appointed and tastefully decorated with a real African theme. The manager, Andrew, went out of his way to help us sort out our flat tyre problem. We had hired a car in Nairobi which came with a spare flat tyre, very helpful! Andrew contacted friends near to where we had broken down who fixed the tyre for us. What kindness! The food was great, the staff really friendly and helpful, and the array of hounds to welcome you was delightful. If I was picky I would say the showers could be more powerful but then I don't know the water situation in the local area and it was great just to have hot water. The gardens are beautiful, the views stunning and the birdlife exquisite. Overall I would go back every time and thoroughly recommend the whole set-up,

We stayed in Kenana cottage on a half board basis for 3 nights. The staff were lovely and the food excellent. Zoe had arranged for Pega tours to take us to Lake Nakuru for the day and then onwards to Lake Baringo. We also did the farm tour which was very good. Could not recommend Kembu more highly.
