“over night stay”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Was disappointed the room was small and hardly no storage. The towel rail was so hot I burnt myself on it when getting out of shower no thermostat to control temp. No tv in room poor for the price. Floorboards near window were loose and condensation on windows due to no central heating only night storage.

This was our fifth time staying in Cadgwith and on returning last year (with my sister and brother in law) we were delighted with the change in the Cadgwith Cove Inn the food was of a very high standard with a specials board that was eagerly anticipated, we actually ate their every night of our stay. We have just returned from a weeks stay in Cadgwith and we were a little disappointed with the commercial take on the premises, customer choice was certainly not on the menu. We ate at the Inn on Easter Sunday (which was prebooked after a fabulous sunday lunch twelve months ago) this time we were disappointed the meal was cold and we thought the food was of a little below what was expected.

The very attentive nature of Daniel and his colleague really sorry cannot remember his name, but he knows who we mean as we complained that our meal was cold and he rectified the situation straight way.

We did eat again at the Inn in the following week and both times we had fish and chips which I must say was superb. The failure to update the specials board from the day we arrived to a week later was very disappointing "lamb pie, megram and a vegetarian choice, as the day to day menu is rather limiting without a special board.

We have booked to come to Cadgwith again early June and will give the Inn another try.

Otherwise the Thia takeaway at Ruan Minor will be an optionl.

Stayed here last month and while the owners were very nice the breakfast was very bland and tasteless. The service was also poor at breakfast, the lady seemed uninterested and hungover. The room we stayed in didn't have its own bathroom, we had to share one on the landing with another room, and when I went to use the shower I noticed that someone from the other room had decided to shave their legs etc in the bath! Wouldn't bother staying again.

What a gem! Excellent food in a dream location. If you're in the area make an effort to visit. We ate freshly caught fish and lovely home made desserts. Prices are high but it is definitely worth paying for.

Gary and Helen are the perfect hosts in this most welcoming of pubs. With food as fresh as it can be, fish is straight off the boat! Our two night stay in the immaculate ensuite room was made all the better with it's sea views and charm of Cadgwith. We will return for sure and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

We walked to cadgwith from a nearby bay and the cove inn was the perfect place to stop for a drink. The setting is lovely and the inn has a lot of character. Friendly welcoming staff. Maybe because of this they don't have to try to hard with what they serve. The staff were helpful, but the cream tea we ordered was terrible, stale scones and a little bit of squirty cream in a pot instead of clotted cream and it wasn't cheap. The tea was fine though. We had several other cream teas over the rest of the holiday and it confirmed to us how dreadful the Cove inn's was. So go for the ambiance and setting but don't bother about the cream tea unless they read this and change what they are offering, or maybe it was just a bad day. Hard to rate this, 5 out of 5 for setting but for disappointment 3 out of 5
