This cottage is wonderful, we have stayed here twice already and both times we have had a fabulous holiday and been welcomed by the lovely hosts Peter and Sandra. The setting is beautiful and the cottage itself is full of character and equipped to a high standard, we could very easily live here! Extremely spacious and spotless. Just perfect. Our dogs were also welcomed and the cottage is surrounded by country so great for dog walking. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.
We cannot rate this cottage highly enough, it has such a relaxing feel to it, we will 100% stay here every time.
A secluded and peaceful location in this most beautiful part of Cornwall. The cottage has everything one could need for a great holiday. Peter and Sandra were most welcoming to us. The highlights of the holiday included the fantastic privilege of a silversmithing session with Peter, clearly a Master of his craft, and an exhilarating yoga session with Sandra. Only wish we'd managed to fit a painting session in too!
I can not fault the location at all, the cottage itself is okay could do with some blinds at some windows unless you want to be woken around 5am, although the cottage is in the countryside you will possibly be woken by the geese or the farm dogs. We took our 4 doggies and we were unable to take them through the woods to the overgrown excercise fields due to thorny underground, our doggies are house dogs not farm dogs so not used to walking on such grounds. Although we spent much of our holiday out most of the day when on site we were asked to take the dogs of site to the loo, as children come to stay and the owners wish to keep the site clean. I totally agree however it is almost impossible to walk the dogs off site without them cocking a leg for a wee, something we can not control unfortunately. Obviously they did no poop on site and if they had we always carry poop bags and would have cleaned any mess immediately. This made things a bit awkward particularly first thing in the morning when they are desperate for a pee, we noticed that the concientious owners dogs had pooped on the cobble stones as did the roaming geese, and this was not cleaned up ( very child friendly). This was our main issue so if you are taking pooches please be aware of the rules, read the cottage rule sheet. If you wish to use the washing line which it states that you can good luck, we were told that we could not as the owner was drying hers, however she kindly offered us a second airier , takes a while to dry the clothes though.
As I said the cottage could do with some minor updating, it was well equipped for our family of five, it would benefit from a mop and bucket and working Hoover as we like to keep the place tidy as we can despite it being a holiday, these are just minor things that could easily be rectified.
The lizard area is amazing with plenty of beaches and coves, we would definitely visit the area again in a heartbeat, I am not sure that I would book this property again though, which is a shame, The welcome we received is not what we expected sadly.
What a great place to stay. Sandra and peter were great. Very welcoming. If you needed anything they done their very best to help you in any way. The cottage is a great place to stay. We went in April and it was still quite chilly so we had to set our own fires which i have no problem with and enjoy. You cant beat sitting in front of a roaring wood burner. Loads of information in the cottage of where you can visit and Sandra recommended some great areas to take the dog. The cottage is rustic and charming and has most of the stuff in it to make a fantastic holiday. The area around is truly stunning with some stunning beaches. Local shops can cater for every need and large supermarkets are not that far away. My wife will never forget the goat experience. It really made her holiday. I would recommend this place to anyone and would certainly go back. Thanks Sandra and peter.
Stayed here with my grandchildren and mother. We all enjoyed watching the animals and despite the weather had a lovely time exploring the area.
Sandra and Peter , and everyone we met were very friendly and helpful.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week holiday. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners Sandra and Peter were very friendly and were happy to help with anything. The cottage is situated within easy reach of lots of beautiful coves, dog friendly as well if needed. We enjoyed spectacular coastline walks and would recommend it to anyone wishing to explore the Lizard Peninsula.
