I arrived around 430 am from the ferry. The staff informed me that if I wanted to wait until 5 am, then I wouldn't be charged for two nights. I was expecting the two nights, so I thought this was a great offer. There was wifi, so I didn't mind waiting the 30 minutes.
I had a superior room with ac. It was nice and clean. The wifi worked in my room as well. The breakfast was decent.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. I got good walking directions and things to do around the city. They gave me all the different options for getting to Manado and in the end arranged a seat in a travel car for me. The owner was also very friendly and he asks guests to write a passage in his "travel book".
I almost stayed here another night simply because the staff were so friendly, as was everyone in the city.

We stayed in a room which has a garden view. The workers are friendly and smiley. The room was needed a bit of maintenance in the bathtub but reasonably clean and comfortable. Basically the rooms are not cleaned everyday but whenever you request it's done properly so no hassle at all.
I loved to sit in front of the room and do some reading.
Nice and quiet atmosphere. There is a glossary store next door and also chemist 50m away.

Room Tip: Some rooms are really Indonesian style as in toilet and shower. If you don't want it you might w...

Tourists come to Gorontalo because they're either going to the Togean Islands or just came from there. We had to spend 2 nights at the New Melati Hotel because we were misinformed about the ferry timetable. (FYI: The Melati staff always know the schedule so if you're still planning your journey, email them, they will tell you what you need to know!)
The hotel is a good place to stay if you have to stay in Gorontalo. The rooms have ac, the breakfast is good and the staff is friendly. The bathrooms are typically Indonesian although they have western toilets.
All in all, if you have to go to Gorontalo, I recommend staying at the New Melati Hotel!

We stayed here 2 nights after a long day of travel from the Togean Islands. Do not be surprised by the fancy front entrance and think you are being scammed this IS the place in the Lonely Planet guide. The rooms are still budget prices. The location is great; the people super friendly and the room clean. We were in a superior room with a/c, cold-water shower, TV, and WI fi. The chairs around the courtyard in front of your room create a nice traveler vibe and everyone is eager to share their stories of where they have been and where they are going. The night market is across the street and the new a/c mall is just a 15-minute walk away. The hotel will help you arrange onward travel. Breakfast was Indonesian style. All in all good value for your money!

Small room with cockroach, bad smell in the bathroom and free internet doesn't work.
If the receptionist called Lali give you some advice on the right place to stay in Togian: be careful. The advice depends of the commission he will receive by the hotel owner. So, avoid to go in Malenge Indah (Lali's friend), except if you like to sleep with rats...
It's better to ask to another travellers.

Staff is friendly & the rooms are cheap. There's an internet cafe next door, and the night food stall are in the park across the street.

Rooms are simple but satisfactory. AC and TV are necessary, as there is really nothing at all to do in Gorontalo. And by nothing, I really min zip, nada, zero.

If you're here, it's most likely on your way to the Togian Islands. With that in mind, stay at this hotel. Really though, try to catch the Tuna Tomini boat to Kadidiri on the same day that you arrive (8pm on select days of the week only).

The hotel owns a general store next door, which is worth shopping in if you need to stock up before going to Togians.
