Reviewed April 22, 2015

My family and I just had a week's break at Old Beacon Hill, and what a peaceful and pleasurable place to have done it. we stayed in the house, an interesting mix of old and new, perfectly clean, all you need available for self-catering, three rooms and two bathrooms, spacious yet cosy. Adele and Ed were fantastic, they were available for anything we might need and yet left us alone to enjoy our break. the properly is big with a pond and stream and we took relaxing walks watched by horses from a neighbouring properly (private). We ate out in the garden despite it being autumn but the temperature was mild and pleasant and living in Johannesburg you don't get much opportunity to breath fresh air while eating al fresco, so we loved it. the house is one of three accommodations but private enough that we did not see any other guests during our stay. Easy to find, just off the N3 at Estcourt South, you turn right toward the lowlands, cross over the highway and 100 meters up the road a dirt road begins and approximately a kilometre onward you will find the entrance to Old Beacon Hill, our car did not mind the dirt road as it was pretty good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
