You moment you arrive, you know you from the warmth of the welcome from John and Fiona that you will be happy in this exceptional place. An immaculately cared-for house in a beautiful garden, everything is pleasing to the senses: the view over the valley to Bodiam Castle, the tranquil bedroom with its most comfortable of beds, capacious wardrobes, waking up to the sound of the birds with the delicious smell of newly baked bread wafting up, the delicious breakfast with home-made granola and jams and freshly prepared fruit, as well as locally sourced foods, which you can take outside on the balcony watching the birds feeding in the garden if the weather is good. You are guests in a home rather than visitors to an ordinary B&B, with the most charming, interesting hosts, so generous with their time.
In the heart of the Sussex countryside, it's the best possible base for visiting the many National Trust properties within a 10-mile radius - Sissinghurst Castle and its garden, for instance - and such places as local vineyards and the beautiful Cinque Port, Rye, an easy drive away, not to speak of the excellent restaurants nearby.

Thank you for your very kind report. We are delighted to see that our efforts to make you feel special were successful. It is our aim to make all our guests feel special, because as far as we are concerned, so far every one has been special, interesting and charming. Meeting and being of service to so many wonderful guests is the main joy of providing bed and breakfast accommodation. We look forward to receiving another visit from you in the not too distant future.
Kindest regards, John & Fiona.

John and Fiona are superb hosts catering to a traveller's every need, We believe Clouds is probably the best B&B experience we have experienced. That was evident soon after arriving - the welcoming tea and homemade shortbread biscuits, the attention to detail, the attractively decorated and very comfortable room and bathroom, and the absolutely superb breakfast left us in no doubt. You are made to feel special and pampered - nothing is too much trouble.

We would suggest phoning ahead to obtain a good description of the property entrance from Dagg Lane.

Thank you for your charming comments, we are always delighted when guests show that they appreciate the efforts we make, to welcome them, make them feel comfortable and at home. It is our pleasure to share this beautiful part of The Sussex Weald with our visitors and help them enjoy the many and varied facilities that are available here. However, we do apologize if our love and enthusiasm for this "Blessed Spot" does cause us to get a bit carried away on occasions.
We do hope that you will favour us with a further visit, when next you feel the need to escape to the country, and relax in this tranquil area.
Kindest regards, John & Fiona.

We stayed two nights with friends and therefore the rate was cheaper as we did not mind sharing a bathroom, extremely good value. I don't think we have had a more comfortable room - the bed was as comfortable as our own, (often we are really pleased to get back to our own bed), the quality of all the furnishings was superb. The shower was excellent with high quality toiletries provided.

John & Fiona go out of their way to make you feel welcome - nothing is too much trouble and everything is of the very best quality - locally sourced breakfast food, home made bread and jams and the most fantastic fruit salad for breakfast.

John and Fiona are very attentive hosts and you feel as though you are friends visiting for a few days rather than paying guests.

There is no TV in the bedroom - which I personally don't mind at all, and no tea or coffee making facilities. However, John and Fiona immediately offer to make you a drink whenever you come in.

Their garden is absolutely beautiful and if you are lucky and the weather is kind you can have breakfast outside and watch woodpeckers and nuthatches feeding.

If you prefer the anonymity of hotels then this place is not for you. We enjoyed being pampered and would definitely return.

We had a wonderful night at Clouds B&B. John and Fiona really do offer 5* care to their guests and you feel pampered from the moment you arrive. The room is tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed and the best in linen etc. The recommendation of dinner at the nearby Michelin starred, ' Curlew' restaurant made our stay even more memorable (perhaps that should be reviewed elsewhere though it is useful to know there is a great place to eat very near to this B&B). The view definitely makes Clouds a place to remember and a stroll round the beautiful garden before breakfast made us feel that we were well and truly in the country - completely peaceful. The breakfast surpassed all others that we have had - unbelievably good fresh fruit salad, home made bread, every kind of egg and other cooked breakfast foods (tomatoes straight from the greenhouse) All in all, we spent a shockingly long time over breakfast and enjoyed the easy conversation with our entertaining hosts. We happily recommend this top class B&B to all travellers to the area!

Another lovely stay with hosts who obviously love to take care of people, nothing is too much to ask, including having cheese for breakfast, which they bought in advance for me. Comfy, comfy beds, and the view is just to die for. Cannot beat looking at that castle out the window! I think this was my third if not fourth stay.
