Our stay at The Clouds was as nice as a B&B could be. The facilities are excellent, the location peaceful and rural, but close to some key sights and the coast. The main draw-card are the owners, who are attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast is a dream, freshly cooked and a great selection.

'Clouds' is a little shangri-la, leave your cares and worries at the gate, and slip into the elegant and tranquil setting of this little gem of a bed and breakfast. Not only does this surpass any bed and breakfast we have stayed in, the owners John and Fiona are the most accomplished and attentive hosts you could wish to meet. 'Clouds' enjoys an elevated location overlooking Bodium Castle; and if you half close your eyes and use a little imagination, you might see a knight in shining armour galloping across the countryside beyond, of course it might just be your host John collecting the fresh sausages for breakfast from the village!
The rooms, like the views, are beautifully presented with every attention to detail.
The bed is extremely comfortable with superb crisp cotton linen and beautiful thick towels. I have to mention the shower too, which gives a new meaning to Power Shower, you can choose 'power', or go 'turbo' which might be irresistable to all you high-tech guests, but for me used to a 'drizzle- of- a- shower' at home, the power setting was amazing.
The whole experience oozes charm, luxury, sophisticated comfort and a breakfast that would leave even Delia smiling! (that;s Delia Smith to you!!) Go try, go experience and come away floating on air.

Most comfortable beds we have found in the UK, power showers, great breakfast, what more could you want??? These people are the greatest! They obviously love doing what they do. The view of Bodiam Castle is just awesome.

Unusual insofar that they only take two guests - or four if family or friends - owing to there being only one guest bathroom and no en-suite. Also no television in the two
bedrooms. However to see these as a deterrent is to miss out on the most wonderful welcome, comfortable stay and marvellous breakfasts - on the patio if warm enough. To see Bodiam Castle appearing out of the morning haze while having one of Fiona's breakfasts something to remember. All this makes for a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday. John and Fiona are excellent hosts - we would not have been for three consecutive years if this were not the case.

I had never stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before and I don't think I ever will again. Nowhere else on earth could be as beautiful, restful and hospitable as " Clouds".
This intimate B&B has a well deserved 5 Star Silver Service rating.
I travelled with my mother from Northern Australia at Easter last year to enjoy an extended visit in the sublime East Sussex village of Ewhurst Green. Some of our old friends are residents of the village and my mother was keen to catch up. Our friends suggested we stay at "Clouds" as we wanted our own space.
It was the best recommendation we have ever had.
The house was originally built by "Guiness" breweries in the 1930's. When John and Fiona bought it a few years ago, they completley renovated and refurbished the house and garden. The discerning decor is so comfortable and restful. The antiques and furnishings exude a simple elegance and are not "over the top".
When we arrived our bags were in our rooms. Our towels and bathrobes were being warmed by the heated towel rails in our rooms. A vase of freshly picked daffodils was on the dresser along side our cookies, bottled water and crystal glassware.
I had no need to pack a toiletries bag. Unlike major chain hotels, the Molten& Brown toiletries in our bathroom were a pleasure to use.
To help us with our jetlag, Fiona left a light on in thekitchen all night if we wanted a cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate or some home baked cookies in the middle of the night.

Breakfast was served everymorning at a time that suited us. Fiona introduced me to pain au chocolaut and her home made fruit salad is incomparable. set in her ways, my mother only wanted a very simple breakfast, and our hosts scoured their local supermarkets to buy her the exact breakfast cereal that she wanted: not to mention the bowl of fresh bananas on the table for her everyday.
We were treated like royalty, we now know what it feels like to have a private butler and hostess catering to our every need.
The rooms were immaculate, and our beds gorgeous. To watch lambs frolicking in the spring sunshine outside my window was a delight.
Our hosts filled us in with lots of news about England and their community and gave us some fascinating history lessons.
Would I return? In a heart beat, its just an expensive airfare and 29 hours of travelling that stops me.

My stay at "Clouds" was an unexpected highlight of my visit to East Sussex. Proprietors, John and Fiona, create such a welcoming atmosphere that makes a guest feel right at home. Breakfasts are a real treat, artful presentations that include local, free range, and/or organic products, all delicious fare. Cozy, comfortable, charming, I can't say enough about what a lovely, relaxing time awaits any traveler who decides to take a break from busy city life with a stay at "Clouds".
